We're so glad you're here and so excited to celebrate with you! As most of you know, it's been a whirlwind of a year (or so). We've simultaneously experienced some of the most difficult and the most joyous moments of our lives. Looking back, we don’t think either of us would have made it through this year alone. We truly believe that God brought us together at exactly the right moment. Thank you for being a part of our story and for all of your love and support! Through it all, we are so incredibly grateful for the family and friends in our lives. We’re looking forward to a happy year ahead, full of celebration and love, and to a lifetime together as husband and wife! We’re so excited to celebrate our marriage and ring in the new year with you!!
We first met waaayyyy back in 2007, both young college kids working summer jobs as camp counselors. We knew one another enough to mutually accept the Facebook friend requests, but that was about it. Fast forward 10 years. Both Tom and Amy had (unknowingly) been eyeing one another on social media for several months. Perhaps it was fate, or maybe it was those cute puppy pics that neither could resist checking out. Whatever the case, Tom - on a whim - made the first move and reached out to Amy after returning from a getaway with friends on July 4. She quickly replied, and they basically haven't stopped talking since. The pair went on their first date on July 7 and the rest, as they say, is history!
From their first date, both Tom and Amy knew a proposal was inevitable - so when Tom asked Amy to visit Cincinnati's Krohn Conservatory on December 23, as was a "big Christmas tradition" for Tom, she had her suspicions. However, Tom threw Amy for a loop when his original plans fell through (thank you, Cincinnati weather!) and instead, he assured her there were just as many festive sightings at the Cincinnati Art Museum (which, spoiler alert: was not true!). Regardless, they enjoyed a wonderful visit to the museum together and after about 20 minutes, Tom led Amy to a quiet corner near a Christmas tree and got down on one knee. It was a beautiful moment, after which Tom swept Amy away to a surprise celebration with family, friends, and lots of champagne! 🥂
