Unfortunately, no. The boat departs promptly at 5:30, so please aim to be present and ready to board for 5:10pm. Guests with mobility issues can board 5 minutes sooner. Please plan accordingly for parking/ walking time if driving yourself. Estimated walking times offered in the ‘parking FAQ’ below.
While there is not a dedicated parking lot for just the Coastal Queen, there are several public parking options. Being a Saturday in Newport, it’s expected that the parking lots will fill quickly. Below is a list of some options, in order, while headed down the one-way street: Parking Garage- 1 W Marlborough St (15-20 minutes walk) Parking- 1 Americas Cup Ave (15-20 minutes walk) Gateway Visitors Center parking & garage- 23 Americas Cup Ave (overnight parking allowed; 11-13 minute walk) Landing Group Parking (in opposite direction on street)- 307 Swans Wharf Row (9am-2am; 7-9 minute walk) Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina (closest)- 49 Americas Cup Ave (2-3 minute walk) Mary Street Parking (5 minute walk)- other side of street, 17 Mary St Perry Parking- (15-20 minute walk) past Bowen’s Wharf; closes at 2am; 20 Perry Mill Wharf
Our venue, the Coastal Queen, does not have the table seating capacity for a traditional sit down dinner. The cruise is also only allotted two hours. However, we are “foodies”, and will be serving delicious (boat friendly) hors d’oeuvres to guests. There is a bar onboard for cocktails as well (cash & card accepted).
Our reception is designed to be a fun, laid back, “Summer in Newport” experience! Guests are free to do whatever they choose after the boat docks. However, next door to the Coastal Queen dock is the Landing Restaurant that offers live music on the weekends! Many guests are planning to head over, Bride & Groom included (we love live music!). This is not a part of the reception, just a conveniently close idea offering live music to continue the fun.
We hope to have our ceremony personal and intimate, with just our immediate family present to witness our exchange of vows. We never pictured our big day to be, “BIG”. Also, our ceremony will be at a beach that means something to special to us, but cannot accommodate a large group. We appreciate your support and understanding.
Summer Casual, yet we ask to please not wear jeans or shorts. Come in summer comfort, with shoes ok for a boat with stairs, and be ready to dance!
As much as we love your kiddos, we would like our special day to be an adults-only occasion. We appreciate your understanding. Come enjoy the night with us!
Although our families would love to give us a shower, we have respectfully declined. We truly have everything we need inside our home. Having our family with us for our reception is gift enough. However, if you were thinking of giving a gift to help us on our way, a monetary donation towards our home’s outdoor plans would really make our day!
