Yona: I had lived in Northern VA my entire life, and when I got into graduate school, I decided to drop everything on a whim and move to St. Louis, MO, to go to school. Before this next phase of my life, I ventured off to work at summer camp, where the shores of Devil Lake in Northern WI called my name. Summer camp is usually a place of personal growth and new experiences, but who knew what was waiting for me..... Amy: I had lived in MN for my entire life and worked at Summer camp for 7 years. I had even been a camper when I was little. So going into my 20th summer, I was ready for another action-packed, sleepless, crazy, fun time. This was my home, my community, and most of the staff I worked with were 19-22 years old or people I knew really well, so I never expected what was to happen next... Yona: I pulled up to camp with my VA license plate, walked into the front door, and there she was. Driven, ready for the next task, and beautiful. My first thought " WHO IS SHE?!?" Amy: I was too busy. I didn't notice her. Yona: Luckily, eventually, she did notice me, and we quickly became friends, especially after having to cook mac and cheese for over 500 people, but that is a different story! Both of us: One night or early morning, whichever you choose, it was 3:30. We were making granola for over 500 people, and I (Yona) finally mustered up the courage to say, " Amy, I think you are cool, like really cool ( pause), and I like you, like really (emphasis on the really) like you" and I (Amy) turned the color of a tomato, slightly smiled and looked down. I didn't say anything for 30 seconds. Ooops.... and then I said, "didn't you tell me you have a brother what he like" because that is the correct answer, right?!? I (Yona) went with it, and we ended up talking about OTHER things for 30 minutes (YES, 30 MINUTES). Then finally, I ( Amy) looked at Yona and said, "you know why I blushed, right? I like you too" And now here we are, getting married!
