Due to the Chicago Marathon being rescheduled during the same weekend as our wedding this year, we were forced to improvise and find affordable lodging in the near north suburb of Skokie. For those of you looking to venture into the city during your stay, most tourist destinations offer pay by the hour parking. For those who are up for an adventure or who are firmiliar with Chicago CTA, you can connect to all major train lines via the yellow line station in Skokie. The train station is a 10 minute drive or Uber ride from the hotel. Please note that on Sunday the 13th there may be service interuptions to CTA and street closures downtown during the Chicago Marathon.
Yes, for those of you driving yourselves to the venue there is a parking lot on grounds, directly south of the Conservatory front entrance. Parking is free of charge.
Glad you asked! Due to the late hour of our ceremony and to ensure that we have plenty of time to spend with our guests, we are opting out of doing a traditional sit down dinner. We will instead be serving a large assortment of passed appetizers throughout the evening so make sure to help yourself when food is being brought around. Dessert and coffee service will also be provided.
