Our dads were best friends long before we were born. We share the same middle name after his dad. Jeff Solomon has seen me go through it all, from junior high awkwardness to living on both sides of the Mississippi, all five times. I've known no friend longer, and proud to call him my best man.

Melissa and Amy met in a pool. The year was 1999 and Amy had just joined Colgate University's water polo team (despite having zero background in swimming). Nobody drowned, and a lasting friendship was born. Melissa and Amy subsequently studied abroad and traveled together in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, drove cross country after graduating and shared an apartment in Boston. And of course, they played water polo.
