Travel Note
For the safety of all of our guests, full Covid vaccination for all eligible guests (including a booster shot if eligible) is required.
Travel Note
We encourage everyone to take an at-home Covid test before coming to the wedding events, if possible. You can find those at any pharmacy in Santa Barbara. All of the wedding events are outdoors, and all guests are welcome to wear masks as an extra precaution.
Travel Note
Guests who hold a nationality from countries covered under the Visa Waiver Program are eligible to apply for an ESTA, which will grant travel to the US for visits under 90 days. The UK and most European countries are covered, but note that if you have dual citizenship with a country not eligible you may not qualify, so please check. Though the ESTA process can be approved in minutes, it can take a few days so please don't do it at the last minute (as Paul has done before...). The ESTA costs US$21 and is valid for 2 years.
Travel Note
If you do not qualify for an ESTA (visa waiver) you will need to apply for a visa. The cost, requirements, and time it takes to process the visa varies by country, please check with your local consulate well in advance.
Flight
SBA is the nearest airport, by far, but international guests will need to transit (normally via Los Angeles or San Francisco). Sometimes the cost isn't that much more than landing in LAX, so definitely check it out. SBA is a 15 minute drive to the wedding venue and to downtown Santa Barbara.
Flight
LAX in Los Angeles is well connected with several flights a day from London Heathrow and other major airports. To get to Santa Barbara you will either need to rent a car (highly recommended) or take the Santa Barbara Airbus. LAX is approximately a 2.5 hour drive to Santa Barbara but will vary with traffic.
Travel Note
For any trip to California we 100% recommend renting a car, which you can do at the airport. Don't forget to drive on the right side of the road! Rental cars are often much cheaper in Oxnard (a city in between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles), so it's worth checking. There is a shuttle that runs from LAX to Oxnard. Reach out to us if you want any advice on this as we'll probably get our own rental car from Oxnard. If you don't want to rent a car, be warned that public transport is limited. You can get around using Uber or Lyft, so be sure to set up one of those accounts before arriving. Public transport is limited.
Travel Note
If you aren't renting a car, don't want to drive from LAX, or it's cheaper to rent a car in Santa Barbara, check out the Santa Barbara Airbus. Roundtrip between LAX and Santa Barbara is $110 a person. There are normally at least 8 shuttles a day.
House Or Rental
There are lots of great Airbnb options in Santa Barbara, but the good ones can book up early. There are some lovely places that could easily host 4+ people, so teaming up with other guests could be a fun option!
House Or Rental
In addition to Airbnb, Vrbo is another website you can use to find vacation rentals.
Travel Note
We don’t have a room blocking as there are so many accommodation options in Santa Barbara, but here are a few hotels that we recommend! Lots more can be found online. If you are willing to drive further, you might find (slightly) more affordable hotels in one of the nearby cities: Carpinteria, Goleta, Ventura, Ojai, Solvang.
