A visit to the Royal Shakespeare Company is a lovely evening out for any of you theatre lovers! This July, the RSC will be staging A Midsummer Night's Dream and Game of Thrones: The Mad King. The RSC has been at the heart of British theatre since 1961, with a theatre here since 1879 – making it one of the most storied stages in the world! Top tip: the rooftop bar is a great spot for a cocktails and you don't need tickets to go up there! They make a crackin’ espresso martini!
From gin and rum schools to cocktail masterclasses and tasting cruises along the River Avon, the Shakespeare Distillery is a brilliant shout for a fun afternoon while you're in town! Please note: The main Shakespeare Distillery production site is located a short 5–10 minute drive outside of Stratford's town centre, however the shop/tasting room is located in the town centre.
Daylesford Organic Farm is in the Cotswolds, about 40 minutes from Stratford, and is one of our absolute favourite spots to grab a yummy farm-to-table lunch, browse the beautiful farm shop, perhaps book in for a spa treatment, and just stroll around the stunning countryside. We would highly recommend you stopping by if you're heading into the Cotswolds!
The Lygon Arms is one of our very favourite hotels for many reasons, but especially because it's where Mickey popped the question last Summer! It’s just a 30-minute drive from Stratford-upon-Avon, making it perfect for a day visit—or a night or two. Located in the historic village of Broadway, one of the most famous towns in the Cotswolds, the Lygon Arms offers timeless charm dating back to 1377 and makes an ideal base for exploring other nearby Cotswolds villages. If you choose not to have a staycation here, we highly recommend booking lunch or dinner at the Grill by James Martin and simply exploring the town!
Now this is the best of Britain! We enjoyed our very first staycation together at this hotel back in 2020, and we truly cannot recommend it enough. Described by Forbes as “one of the loveliest Cotswolds properties,” Thyme is chic luxury at its finest. Set across a 150‑acre estate, the hotel is a cluster of beautifully restored 17th‑century cottages, barns, and farmhouses, offering the perfect blend of heritage charm and modern comfort. Picture relaxed luxury, farm-to-table dining, and timeless countryside charm all in one place ... And you have Thyme Hotel! In our opinion, it’s the perfect stop for a pre- or post-wedding escape!
