Frequently Asked Questions:
Question

How long does it take to get to Yosemite from Los Angeles?

Answer

4.5 hours (depending on traffic).

Question

Do I need a reservation to enter Yosemite Valley?

Answer

Yosemite National Park requires a park reservation on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays August 17 through October 27. A reservation is not required on other days. Our Wedding Permit acts as a park reservation to enter the park for Saturday, September 28th. You will be given a copy of the wedding permit and one of our IDs to enter the park on Saturday. If you wish to explore the park on Sunday, September 29th, we suggest getting a park reservation soon as there is a limited number available (you can see the available number of spots remaining on the page linked below). The reservation costs $2 and is good for a 3-day period. Reservations are good for your entire vehicle of people, and you do not need one for each individual person. If you wish to explore the park before the wedding on Thursday or Friday, you will not need a reservation! Question

How long does it take to get from Autocamp Yosemite to Yosemite Valley?

Answer

It is an hour drive to the ceremony location from Autocamp Yosemite. Please account for park entrance lines, construction, road delays, and time to find parking.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

The weather in Yosemite in late September ranges from mid 70s (high) to mid 40s (low). Be prepared with clothing for warm and cooler weather. As we get closer to the date, check back here for updated projections on the weather that weekend!

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Pack as you would for any hotel or resort! Autocamp is a full service boutique hotel. There's even a swimming pool! So bring your swimwear if you'd like to take a dip. If you wish to hike in Yosemite, we suggest bringing athletic shoes or hiking boots, water bottles, backpack, sunscreen, bug spray, and snacks. If you are planning to swim or float down the Merced river that runs through the Park, don't forget your sandals, towels, inner tubes, and coozies :) .

Question

Will I see a Bear?

Answer

Probably not, but don't count it out! ;)

Question

Do you recommend any specific Hikes or things to do?

Answer

Yes! Go to the 'Things To Do' tab to see a list of suggested sites in Yosemite, as well as a list of classes and things to do at Autocamp Yosemite during your stay.

Question

What if I forgot something?

Answer

Autocamp Yosemite has a small General Store where you can purchase some basic items, as well as food and beverages. In addition to the Autocamp General store, the town of Mariposa has plenty of stores, gas stations, and restaurants if you need to grab something you've forgotten!

Question

6232 CA-140 Midpines, CA 95345

Question

How will we be travelling to the ceremony in Yosemite?

Answer

Personal vehicles, vanpool, or carpool (preferred to reduce the amount of vehicles).

Question

Do I have to stay at Autocamp Yosemite?

Answer

No! There are plenty of hotels and air bnbs to choose from if you prefer to find different accommodations nearby.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by Friday, July 26, 2024.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please let us know if you have any food allergies or food preferences such as non-dairy, vegetarian, vegan, etc. In the RSVP tab under the Welcome BBQ and Reception, there is a section to let us know about food requests. Feel free to also text us your request. :)

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is limited parking in Yosemite Valley near Sentinel Beach. We will be organizing a carpool into Yosemite Valley for the Ceremony, and highly recommend carpooling from Autocamp. Autocamp provides one parking spot per accommodation on site. There is a small amount of Guest parking for Guests not staying on site.

Question

Will there be an Open Bar?

Answer

During our Reception we'll have an Open Bar! Alright alright alright.

Question

Answer

Keeping with the casual, outdoorsy vibe, we will be having BBQ at the Welcome BBQ (duh) and Tacos at the Reception!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! All kids are welcome, and we'd love to help inspire a love and appreciation of nature in children, through visiting Yosemite.

Question

What time will your wedding reception end? Is there an after-party?

Answer

The Wedding Reception will end at 9:30pm, as Quiet Hours begin at 10pm. You may hangout together outside your Accommodations, though we ask you please be respectful of AutoCamps Quiet Hours and other guests' experience. After Party - more info to come. ;)

Question

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes! The Ceremony will take place from 11am to about noon, and the Reception will begin about 5pm. You will have a few hours to hangout in Yosemite Valley and explore. We suggest leaving no later than 3:30pm, to give yourself time to drive back to Autocamp and to freshen up before the Reception.

Question

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

Answer

Please try to arrive about 10:30am, to give yourself time to find parking, walk over, and take photos. We suggest leaving AutoCamp by 9:15am latest, to give yourselves plenty of time to comfortably get to Yosemite Valley.

Question

Will there be Wifi or cell service?

Answer

The majority of your drive to AutoCamp, you will have cell service. You will lose cell service about the last half hour to 45 minutes of your drive. Please be prepared with written or screenshotted directions, or by having your maps already on and directing you. Once you arrive at AutoCamp, there will be cell service and Wifi. On your way to Yosemite Valley, you will lose cell service. We will provide guests with directions to get to the valley, but you can also have your maps already on to help navigate you. Once you reach Yosemite Valley, you will have cell service again.
