The best hiking that the city limits of Austin can provide!

Texas Capitol

Biggest capital building outside of Washington DC itself

The White Horse

Best little honky-tonk on the east side for live music, dancing and whiskey.

Mount Bonnell

Very close to the church, take in some great views after a very short trip up some stairs.

A fancy bar in a parking garage.

Cathedral of Junk

A modern marvel in a South Austin man's backyard. Call ahead before you show up so he knows to be home. It's weird.

Tyson's Tacos

Very good taco stand. Also, if you play them a song on their ukulele, they'll give you a taco for free.

One of the best music venues in town.

Family friendly, great pizza and they brew their own wonderful beers for the adults.

Velvet Taco

Good tacos within close walking distance to the hotel - Open super late. They also have this thing called Backdoor Chicken where you knock on the kitchen door in the alley outside and hand staff 20 bucks, they'll hand you a bag of chicken with sides. I've never done it, but it sounds rad.

Whole Foods Market

Kinda weird, but if you want to visit the giant flagship Whole Foods, it's a cool place. There's a slightly smaller one close to the hotel too.

A fine place. This where Kevin and Amy had their first date.

Another site of an early Amy and Kevin date, this is an off-the-beaten-path joint for real live music.
