Dispersed Camping

We are planning to camp on the public lands around Zion: Dalton Wash, Kolob Terrace Rd, or Hurricane Cliffs for anyone wanting to join.

Subway Hike in Zion
7:00 am
We have a permit for up to 12 to hike the Subway bottom up in west Zion for anyone that is interested. It is a 7-9 mile strenuous hike that requires scrambling boulders and wading through the river.

We will have a family style dinner for those planning to stay at the AirBnB and anyone who is staying off-site. This will be a great time for you all to get to know each other and for us to chat about the fun plans in the days to come! Please let us know about any dietary restrictions.

Observation Point Hike

For anyone wanting to join the observation point hike (7 miles), we may take a shuttle from Ponderosa Ranch (30 minutes from Airbnb) to the trailhead. Reviews say it is very hard to find parking at the trailhead and the road is rough.

Drive to Wire Mesa Trailhead

Please plan to leave for the trailhead by 2:00! It takes a little over an hour to reach Wire Mesa on a very rough road. 4 x 4 recommended. We will carpool and likely travel in groups.
Ceremony

Short half mile or so walk to the ceremony location. You may want to wear hiking shoes in, attire is casual dressy. We want you to be comfortable! Plan for group photos after the ceremony.
Please arrive on time as the ceremony will begin promptly at 3:45, followed by group photo session.

Bryce Canyon National Park

Traveling to Bryce Canyon National Park (1 hour from Airbnb). Great views without hiking and lots of little loop hikes that can be short or grouped together for a longer hike.

Check out of Airbnb and explore Kodachrome State Park or other nearby areas

After check out we may explore other nearby areas and hike/camp at Kodachrome State Park or find dispersed camping in that area.

Valley of Fire State Park

Located on the way back to Vegas (an hour north). We will be exploring the park and camping at Arch Rock Campground.
