We first met 10 years ago, when I was 15 and Jacob was 14. For the next 3 years while we were in high school, our friend group hung out almost every weekend, going to the movies, me watching the boys play video games, and staying up way too late in Jake's basement. Jake and I became best friends in Mr. Pope's Spanish 2 class and were each other's date to my senior prom in 2014. We ended up going to the University of Wyoming together and became even closer as friends. Our first date was Feb. 29, 2016. Six years down and forever to go!

Jacob's sister, Julia, had given us a free mini photo session with Emily Jessen Photography as a Christmas present. I had jokingly said to Jake, "What if you took advantage of this photoshoot and proposed to me?", and he said, "Ok, I will.". The day of the photoshoot came around on Oct. 15, 2021, and we started the photoshoot by taking normal couple's pictures. At one point Emily had us face each other and put my arms around Jake and told us to talk to each other and make each other laugh. I said to Jake, "So are you going to propose?", this caught him off guard and he said, "I'm thinkin' about it.". I responded "Yeah?", "I'll do it.", "Ok.", I said, not believing him. Then he started rummaging around in this jacket pocket for the ring box, he knelt down, and asked, "Amy Rowan, will you marry me?".
