Amy and Emanuel met during their first week of college at the University of Vermont. Emanuel was only two dorm rooms away from Amy, and they quickly became friends. They spent the whole fall semester together before Emanuel asked Amy to be his girlfriend.

Emanuel and Amy traveled to Spain in June, 2026, for their first big vacation together. They traveled to Tarifa and Gibraltar before ending their trip in Seville. On the last night of their trip, Emanuel took Amy to Parque de María Luisa to take photos near the beautiful fountain. Once they arrived at the fountain, Emanuel went down on one knee and asked Amy to marry him.
