Rent A Golf Cart
RENT A GOLF CART Renting a golf cart is one of the best and most fun ways to see the island! Golf carts may be rented for $55 USD for 8 hours or for $70 USD for 24 hours. Pick up at Joaquin is across from the ferry terminal. You must leave a valid driver's license with the rental company for the duration of your rental. There is a zero tolerance policy for drinking and driving while operating the golf carts. There are also no open containers allowed. If you plan to drink, it is best to take a taxi.
Punta Sur
PUNTA SUR It is the highest part of the island, reaching 20 meters above sea level. It offers the best views of the Caribbean Sea, the bay of Cancun and the bay of Isla Mujeres, true beauties worthy of admiration. There is also the Sculptural Park that features colorful metal sculptures of contemporary art, as well as the Temple of the Mayan goddess Ixchel. How to get there: Take a taxi or golf cart to Punta Sur located at the southernmost tip of the island. Admission: Admission to Punta Sur is 30 MXN or $3USD
MUSA Underwater Museum of Art
MUSA Manchones Reef holds the world renowned Underwater Museum MUSA, a collection of more than 300 human sized sculptures that were created with the intention to protect the reef and encourage coral growth. The museum is also called the “Silent Evolution” due its eventual transformation into a complete self sustaining reef ecosystem in the near future. Today’s the museum provides protection for many species and is symbol of environmental consciousness. ISLA CONTOY Isla Contoy is a perfectly preserved island, home to thousands of resident birds, coral reefs, abundant marine life and one of the most spectacular beaches in the Caribbean! GARRAFON DE CASTILLA Snorkel through crystal clear waters off the private beach of Garrafon de Castilla. The beach, which serves as a great place for snorkeling, with restaurants serving fresh food and cold beverages, life vests and snorkeling equipment for hire, and plenty of shade near the beach to relax under. Observe wild iguanas roaming the site and basking in the sunshine. For the best view of the reef, swim to the left toward the pier staying close to shore. You will see lots of colorful fish, coral reef and sea unchins. After you are finished snorkeling, head across the street to The Joint for amazing food, drinks, and live bands. Amazona Beach Club
AMAZONA BEACH CLUB Located in the island’s Punta Sur area, between Playa Lancheros and MarBella, this is an ideal location to enjoy an all-inclusive, luxurious day on the beach. A day pass at Amazona is just $40 USD per person, this incredible rate includes food and drinks all day, as well as the use of their sun beds, loungers, umbrellas, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, hammocks, volleyball area in the water, swings, as well as a waitress service, showers, and parking. There is also a live DJ. Open from 11am until 6pm, daily. The all-day food includes two different types of buffet, with many alternatives to choose from. Drinks include cocktails, beers, shots, sodas and water. Reservation are $5 online. How to get there: I recommend taking a taxi since drinks are unlimited.
