We matched on the dating app, Hinge, and hit it off talking about places we hope to go and our shared interests in the outdoors with a hint of adrenaline. But when we matched, Josh was heading out on a work trip to Portland and I was leaving on a road trip across the Southwest. To our surprise, we talked through text for over a month, without either one of us ghosting the other, before ever meeting in person. Finally, on Cinco de Mayo, we had our first date: margaritas and a classic Richmond walking trail, and were already making more plans. 💖

We were on a camping and kayaking trip with a group of friends in New River George, WV. We love a camping trip and had been here together before so on our last day of the trip, we spent some time just the two of us. Josh was driving and seemed anxiously determined to find a good trail or view but I didn't think anything of it. We ended up revisiting a beautiful view of the New River Gorge Bridge and river, and as I was taking my sweet time taking pictures of the scenery, Josh was behind me on one knee waiting patiently. Of course, I said yes! 💖
