Jeff has known the owner, Matt, for years, and the quality of the food just keeps getting better. Seriously the best pizza ever, and they have gluten free and vegan options that taste just as good as the real thing. AND it's walking distance from our house. Support your local small business! Especially if it's friends :)
Some of the most delicious food we've ever had! This place is delicious and always easy to get a table or order out. Another local, small business we love.
Muzita is amazing for so many reasons. It's a small, cozy feeling restaurant where the owner greets everyone and tells stories of his mother's delicious cooking. We're told the sauces they use are made fresh daily by his mother, and by the taste of the food I believe it. The berbere braised veggies and all of the sides are Amy's favorite, and shiro and hamli is Jeff's favorite. Everything is served on a bed of injera with extra injera on the side, because the injera and your hands are the utensils. Be sure to make a reservation if you're dining on the weekend, and enjoy walking around Park Blvd before or after. Clos wine shop is right down the street if you want to hit two great spots in one night.
Paul and Drury (the shop owners) are the BEST. We love them, their wine selection, their awesome shop and patio, and supporting them as small business owners.
When we lived in Little Italy we would frequently enjoy some natural wine and people watching at Vino Carta. The wine bros (as we call them because they are sommeliers that look like skate or surf bros) have seriously incredible taste.
One of our favorite places to bike, enjoy live jazz at Panama 66, hit the museums, or hang out at the zoo with our annual passes.
Do you enjoy climbing or want to try it out?? This is our home gym, where we met many of our friends and have spent a lot of our time. Amy joined back in 2013, when it was only the Mira Mesa location. Now they have 2 other locations in San Diego, and gyms in Reno and Austin. We love climbing and are happy to join you, just let us know!
One of our favorite beaches, but don't tell your friends! Seriously though, it's nice because it's usually much quieter than other beaches, and it's still waters are great for paddle boarding. And dogs are allowed!
The reserve is a beautiful place to hike with friends or on your own. It's super safe and has amazing beach views, especially at sunset, but FYI they don't allow dogs / pets since it's a reserve.
Our favorite seafood spot, and now they have one in OB too. Be prepared for a wait if you want to dine in; everyone loves this place.
We are not really meat eaters, but Grand Ole is famous and literally a few blocks from our house so we had to try it. We love the atmosphere, and they have surprisingly good vegetarian options and smoked salmon on Sundays. Meat eaters tell us the BBQ is delicious.
