This is a Sikh wedding also known as an Anand Karaj. Sikhism is one of the most popular religions in India, and is the main religion in the state of Punjab, where Amrit and Simrit's families are both from. A Sikh wedding ceremony is held at a Gurdwara, which is a Sikh temple.

Yes! We are delighted to share our special day with your little ones. We just ask that they remain supervised throughout the celebration so everyone can enjoy the festivities. All invited children will be listed on your RSVP page

Both men and women are required to cover their heads while inside and outside the Gurdwara. Men can wear a turban or a headscarf, while women can wear a chunni (dupatta) or a turban style head covering. Remove Shoes: Upon entering inside the Gurdwara, it is customary to remove your shoes. It is recommended to wear slip on shoes or sandals for easy removal. Silence Phones: Please remember to put your phones on silent mode during inside the Gurdwara. Absolutely no drinking or smoking prior or at the Gurdwara. If there are any questions, or clarification needed, please ask us!
We kindly ask that our wedding be an unplugged celebration, meaning we'd love for you to be fully present with us during the ceremony. Please put away phones and cameras and let our photography and videography team capture the moment. We also ask that guests be mindful not to block their view throughout the day so they can do their best work. We can't wait to share the beautiful photos with you afterwards!
Sikh Ceremony-Formal modest Indian or Western attire. Modest attire required including no cleavage, no exposed backs, no exposed shoulders, and no bare midriffs. Please dress comfortably for the ceremony, whether you choose to wear Indian or Western attire. Remember that you'll be sitting on the ground for the duration of the Sikh ceremony, so make sure your outfit allows for ease of movement. All guest will be required to cover their head throughout the entirety of the wedding and we will be providing head covers if required. You will be required to remove shoes as well. Reception: Whether you choose to wear Indian or Western attire, make sure you have comfy shoes. We will be dancing throughout the night. Guests are certainly not expected to wear Indian attire. We encourage guests to wear outfits that are bright and bold – and don’t be afraid to accessorize. Indian weddings are a colorful affair, feel free to wear whatever color you feel comfortable celebrating in
No, it's not required. Please feel free to wear Western attire to all events. If you are interested in wearing Indian attire, you can buy either kurta pajama's, saree's or lengha's from a local Indian clothing shops or online. If you are interested in wearing an Indian outfit, feel free to contact the Bride, Groom, or your Indian friends to borrow or to get help to purchase an Indian outfit.
