Laura and Charlie did not expect to find love in a bar on the Lower East Side, but both are happy they did. Like other stories, the future is written in the stars and can't be planned or forced; it just happens because what's meant to be will be. "Lo que sera, sera." The story goes Laura had her best friend Grace visiting from Austin, Texas. It was a cold winter day, and the original plan was to go to the Met. Laura was to show her friend an excellent time out at the museum. The friends headed out to Wok to Walk a counter-to-table Asian food spot. Grace is famed for being fun and spontaneous, and after a few calls to local NY friends, the plans shifted to attend Bar 169. This Bar was where the couple met. At the famed Bar, Charles's friend Mike approached Laura and her friends and introduced himself. Laura asked who the tall, good-looking guy with the glasses was, and Mike responded, "oh, that's Charlie." Charles introduced himself via a complementary shot for Laura and a hello. The night continued festively as the couple bonded over the conversation. Shortly after Laura and her friends decided to go to the Keep in Brooklyn, Charlie stopped the friend group, asking if he could come along. The night continued with dancing to the wee hours of the night. The couple's first date was at the Met, where the new couple shared their love for art, history, and design.
