Kassy and Roger’s journey starts off in October 2022. We both had used various online dating sites, gone on numerous dates, but none had been successful. One wonderful day, we both swiped right and matched! After several days of chatting back and forth, Roger made the move to ask me out on a date. He had a long trip planned so the date had to happen relatively soon. I had to be at work early the next day, but decided on going on the date since I didn’t want to risk losing the momentum. On October 28th, the date started off at Cooper’s Hawk for some wine and dinner. I met him at the wine tasting bar and talked a bit awaiting our table. We enjoyed a bottle of wine, some bruschetta, soup, salad, and Roger’s favorite- trio of medallions. After dinner, we decided to take a stroll through City Place to find a place to continue the night. It was a Friday night after all! We couldn’t decide which place to go into (shocking!) – one was too quiet, the other too loud, but one place had just the right vibe … Chico Malo. Needless to say, we danced the night away. Knowing that I had to work the next morning, we tried to end the night at a reasonable time. He walked me to the car, but then realized that his car was on a different floor. I offered to drive him so he wouldn’t have to walk alone. We continued to talk and talk… until I fell asleep in the car. A few hours later, we parted ways knowing that we wouldn’t see each other for at least 2 weeks. I said that I would miss him, which nearly scared Roger away! He’d never really had someone tell him that they would miss him after a short time. Unbeknownst to me, Roger asked his friends for advice. Thankfully, they were able to reason with him. The relationship continued to flourish. I invited Roger over for Noche Buena at Chavely and Carlos’ house. They instantly approved of him! As New Year’s Eve approached, Roger invited me to the family party. It was a big deal for him, and I was a bit nervous, but knew that everything would work out fine. I met the whole gang, and we danced the night away! The rest is history… From our first trip to Spain in March of 2023, Roger trying to get me to jay-walk, making endless memories together, and constant joking and laughter, we both knew we were perfect for each other! On July 28th, 2024 in Santorini, exactly 21 months after meeting, Roger got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! After the shock of saying “what are you doing?!” had settled, I said “YES!”
