Travel and Accomodation

The Wedding Website of Amir Aschner and Clare Burn
Kingston is an adorable little town situated in the Hudson Valley in New York State. We have recommended some ways to get to Kingston as well as some places to stay below. We've decided not to do hotel blocks to give you a little more freedom in your accommodation choices (and because you really can get better rates on Expedia!). We would suggest booking early - September is peak wedding season in the Hudson Valley!

Travel Note

A note for our (many!) International Guests

For those of you traveling to the United States from overseas, a quick reminder: New Zealand passport holders, you can get a visa waiver and can apply for an ESTA online up to 72 hours before departure. South African Passport holders, you will need a non-immigrant visa issued by a US consulate in South Africa. Please remember to allow sufficient time for visa processing - they can be slow! Israeli passport holders require a non-immigrant visa issued by a US consulate. Philippine passport holders also require a non-immigrant visa issued by a US consulate. UK passport holders can get a visa waiver and can apply for an ESTA online. Australian passport holders can get a visa waiver and can apply for an ESTA online. Canadian passport holders do not need a visa or an ESTA to visit the United States.

Travel Note

Easiest: Rent a car

The Hudson Valley does not have the extensive public transit system available in New York City. As a result, we recommend renting a car and carpooling out to Kingston (easiest, plus you can hang out with friends!) Check out our FAQs for information about where to park at the venue.

Train

Metro-North: Grand Central Terminal to Poughkeepsie

The Metro-North train line runs from Grand Central Station to the Hudson Valley, and you can take the Hudson line to Poughkeepsie for around US$18. The trip takes around an hour and forty-five minutes. There is an Ulster County Kingston bus line that runs from Poughkeepsie to Kingston; but we'll also have a Lyft code available to help with the cost of an approximately 30 minute drive from the Metro North station in Poughkeepsie to Kingston.

Train

Amtrak: New York Penn Station to Rhinecliff

Amtrak trains are pretty comfortable and this is an easy and relaxing way to get from New York City to the Hudson Valley. The estimated cost for this trip is around US$30 each way and the trip takes around 2.5 hours. Rhinecliff station is around 20 minutes drive from Kingston, and we'll have a Lyft coupon code to help to subsidize your ride from the station to Kingston.

Train

Bus: Trailways of New York (NYC - Kingston)

There is a bus that will take you directly to Kingston for around US$27. The bus leaves from the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 41st and 8th.

Travel Note

Lyft Event Code

We've created a Lyft event code with a limited number of ride discounts to help out with transportation for the weekend. Use the code AMIRCLARE2019 to get $20 off your ride to Kingston from Poughkeepsie or Rhinecliff train stations, or within Kingston, between 13 and 15 September. Limited to one redemption per person, so team up and carpool if you need to! (Lyft also has great "first-time-user" discounts on their website - see www.lyft.com/promo-coupon.)

Bed and Breakfasts and Guesthouses

Kingston and the Hudson Valley have lots of little inns and guesthouses. We have included a selection here to help you make your decision! A number of these are situated near the Rondout Waterfront in Kingston, which is about a ten minute drive from the venue. The waterfront has a park, a number of cafes, restaurants and other stores, and makes a great place for a walk or a cup of coffee! http://akingstonbedandbreakfast.com http://www.rondoutinn.com https://www.thegalleryinnkingstonny.com http://belsinn.net
