This is where our wedding is! The 11,998-acre Front Range park established in 1960 has 36 miles of hiking trails.
There are so many amazing hikes in and around the area! We recommend Lookout Mountain, Table Mountain & Apex in Golden. We also love the Flat Irons trails in Boulder, CO at Chataquah Park. The Manitou Incline is another nice front-range hike near the cute town of Manitou Springs. Bear Lake State Park is a great spot for fishing and swimming with some nice trails as well. Or head to St Mary’s Glacier or Rocky Mountain National Park.
Check out the Golden Bike Library and check out bicycles for the afternoon to go explore some of the local area &/trails! The bikes are free for two hours or $10 for the day. They even have helmets and water bottles to loan!
Besides being an epic place to catch live music, Red Rocks is a beautiful spot to go explore some trails! You can also get a killer work out climbing all the stairs in the amphitheater! One of our favorite things to do is pack some instruments (even if it’s just a harmonica) and go sit on the stage to play, hearing the reverberations and thinking of all the greats that have played there...
Colorado is home to so many great craft breweries! Some of Michael’s favorites to check out are: Odd-13 (Longmont), Our Mutual Friend Brewery (Denver) & Crooked Stave (Denver). Coors out of Golden offers a free brewery tour you can check out! At the end they even give you three free beers to try. Locals tip: if you’re short on time (or just more interested in free beers) you can take the short tour and skip the brewery process straight to your free drinks!
An off-the-beaten-path, quaint old bread shop turned bar. Feels like going back in time. This place is near and dear to our hearts and a special date spot.
