Amie and Sam met in 2022, brought together by modern day help, Hinge, and a little serendipity. At the beginning, Amie and Sam discovered they had more in common than expected, including time spent working at the same firm, EY—Sam previously, and Amie still today. Both old souls at heart, they found true alignment beyond their professional paths in their love for quality time together, the simple rhythms of life, and building a life rooted in similar values. A value they both share is the desire for their relationship and life to be centered in faith. They committed early on to finding a church community they could call home and were grateful to discover The Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Beverly Hills. For the past three years, attending Sunday mass together there has been a steady and grounding part of their journey. They are especially grateful to Father Ed for the role he has played in their faith journey and are honored that he will be marrying them. Sam proposed to Amie in Paris just before Christmas, outside the Ritz Paris overlooking Place Vendôme, with its glowing Christmas trees. The moment captured what they love most: Amie’s fondness for the magic of Christmas, and Sam’s appreciation for timeless, beautiful places. It was a meaningful and unforgettable way to mark the beginning of their next chapter. They are so grateful for the love and support of their family and friends, and cannot wait to celebrate their marriage at Shutters on the Beach surrounded by the people who mean the most to them. Fun fact: On the night before their trip to Paris (where they would get engaged), Sam was walking along the beach in Santa Monica and stumbled upon Shutters for the first time—a quiet, unassuming moment at the time, but in hindsight, a perfect hint of what was to come.
