Alex and Vivian met during the summer of 2023. Almost immediately, it appeared to be a perfect match. As the story goes, both Alex and Vivian were ready to commit to a relationship; however, Vivian, correctly, wanted to make sure Alex was prepared to be an active part of Sebastian's life. Alex, Vivian, and Sebastian shared their first collective outing at Menchie's Frozen Yogurt where Sebastian famously told Alex "No, you cannot be my mommy's boyfriend". After a few video game sessions, opening some Pokemon cards, and bonding over soccer, Sebastian changed his answer and gave his blessing for the relationship to blossom. The relationship bloomed so quickly that in the winter of 2023, Alex and Vivian welcomed their first dog - a miniature schnauzer named Peanut. Alex, Vivian, Sebastian, Peanut, and Zeus (Alex's cat) were quickly laying the foundation to be a happy, healthy family. The year 2024 included a trip to Colombia where Alex got to meet Vivian's extended family. Vivian introduced Alex to local cuisine, historical destinations, and provided an awe-inspiring trip to Bogota, Colombia - a trip that Vivian remembers as 'getting Alex outside of his comfort bubble'. The romantic, surprise engagement, followed by a surprise celebration party occurred in June 2025. Shortly after Vivian said "YES!", Alex and Vivian decided to sell Alex's condo and begin the search for their first home. Alex, Vivian, Sebastian, Zeus, Peanut, and Mochi moved into their new home in December 2025. Alex and Vivian look forward to exchanging vows and continuing their journey together in Spring 2027.
