We love Pinnacles National Park! We especially love the California condors, which you can reliably spot in the late afternoons and evenings. The west entrance is closer to the Carmel area. In July, Pinnacles could be extremely hot, so do check the weather if you plan to go here.
Elephant (seal) in the room: this park is underwater. But the Monterey Bay is famous for its sea life, and there are plenty of ways to experience it - beaches, kayaking, and whale watches are highly recommended! Just an FYI for our East Coast guests - Hollywood has lied to you, and beaches in California get COLD during summer. Bring a jacket!
