How They Met

Cancun

Liz and Amber met at the Best Maid's birthday trip to Cancun in September of 2019. After 5 days in a foreign country, seeing the best and worse of each other, and sharing a love for Rihanna's "Yeah, I Said It", something just clicked. When they returned to Philly they spent time together weekly, which turned to two times per week, and eventually grew into extended stays together throughout the COVID lockdown. They figured, if they could enjoy each other on vacation, in regular day to day life, and a global lockdown, there isn't much that could shake them from each other moving forward. As of today they have created a beautiful, classic life together and are a year from saying "I do".

The Initial Commitment

9.29 was Born

After a year of growing progressively more serious with one another, and leaning on each others' love and laughs to get them through some of the toughest months in their lives, they made things official. First was a weekend getaway to Baltimore and Washington D.C., where Amber surprised Liz with small gifts and small notes of appreciation. Then once returning to Philly, Amber (with the help of one of their Bridesmaids) capped off the extended weekend with the statement "we go together now" drawn onto a commissioned portrait of them. 9.29 represents the union of Amber and Liz as individuals who are becoming one, as their birthdays combined equal that date.

The Proposal

Flying High

On their 2nd anniversary, Amber spent the day paranoid and watching weather reports as it was hurricane season and the proposal depended on air more precise than you care to imagine. However, after much prayer and to Liz's surprise, they arrived in Delaware to undertake a hot air balloon ride that would change their lives forever. Once in full flight and with the help of the captain, Amber asked if he could take a photo of them and once the captain was secretly recording, pulled out the ring. They had joked earlier, while the flight crew were setting up, how difficult it would be to top the experience for next anniversary. As such, Amber stated "Now we don't have to. Will you marry me?". Liz with wide eyes, mouth agape in disbelief, and an open heart shouted "YES," and they were engaged. Back in Philly, 20 of their close family and friends awaited them for a private engagement reception later that night (also a surprise to Liz). Together, they basked in the moment as one newly formed collective community over Liz' drink of choice for all occasions, champagne. Amber & Liz are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in their lives with you all , join together their community of support, and have the best anniversary they could dream of. Thanks in advance for being a part of this special day!
