One of our favorite hikes. If you get there right at 7 AM, you can enjoy a challenging yet peaceful workout with some of the most incredible views on Maui. Fingers crossed the clouds stay away!
If you stop by Wailuku Coffee in the morning, there’s a good chance you’ll run into us. Whether we’re grabbing a caffeine boost to fuel our 4 AM–12 PM remote workday or easing into a slow Saturday morning before the beach, it’s one of our favorite local spots.
We tend to lose track of time on this beach. Give us the sound of the waves, a book, and a cold beer, and suddenly the whole day has slipped by.
At Wailea Beach, we’re usually with friends or kicking a soccer ball, while Maverick relentlessly requests another toss of his ball into the waves… for what feels like the thousandth time that day.
Our favorite post-beach treat is Ululani’s Hawaiian shaved ice. In eight years, Amber has never ordered anything other than lilikoi and melona with a scoop of haupia ice cream. Brock, is slightly more adventurous, though guava and macadamia nut ice cream are his go-to flavors.
If you know either of us, you know we appreciate the small, simple things. After wrapping up our workday, we’ll often race to one of our favorite beaches to catch the sunset. Somewhere along the way, hunger usually hits, and that’s when we make the inevitable stop at Minit Stop for fried chicken, potato wedges, and spam musubi. IYKYK
Sometimes the best thing to do in Maui is… nothing at all. Let the waves, the breeze, the sun and the slower pace guide your day. Forget schedules for a while and focus on what really matters—family, friends, and a little well-deserved relaxation.
