Cute shops, restaurants, bars, a movie theater, Ben & Jerry's ice cream parlor and more! Our favorite restaurants are Big Mountain Deli, Lisa G's, Big Slide Brewery, Top of the Park, La Luna and Cafe Rustica. Make sure to check the hours before going! Lake Placid is an early to bed early to rise type of town :)
As you ride to the top, you’ll learn about the Olympic history of the track. Once at the peak, you’ll be in the driver’s seat, controlling the speed as you zoom alongside the historic 1980 bobsled track, navigating sharp corners, cliffside banks, and long winding stretches.
For those interested in hiking one of the 46 Adirondack high peaks, but have not done so yet, start with Cascade and Porter mountains. These peaks are the easiest of the 46 high peaks yet physically challenging even for physically active people. However, the mountain views at the summit are breathtaking. We recommend you pack extra water and a sandwich, and wear hiking shoes or boots (not sneakers). Not recommended for children under ten. Copperas Pond is a short, mostly uphill hike to a serene hidden pond. Still challenging yet less intense than a high peak climb. Not recommended for children under ten. For more hiking trails, we recommend the Alltrails App.
Lost of great spots for paddling in the area!
Although not at the top of our "must-do" list, still a fun and interesting activity, especially for rainy days.
It wouldn't be a Dill wedding without a golf recommendation! This is Jeremy's favorite place to tee off, with gorgeous mountain views.
For those looking to mountain bike. Not recommended for road bikes.
About 15 minutes from Lake Placid, Saranac Lake is a beautiful, quaint and friendly small town. Our favorite restaurants are Campfire in the historic Saranac Lake Hotel, Fiddlehead Bistro, and Blue Moon Cafe for breakfast. Check out the farmer's market on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm, and you'll be back in time for our wedding!
