Amber and Eric first crossed paths during their senior year at RPI, at one of Eric’s fraternity parties. Amber arrived with friends, Eric was in the middle of a game, and what began as a simple compliment on his earrings quickly turned into a conversation that lasted the rest of the night. From that day on, they spent nearly every day together until graduation. When Eric moved to Boston and Amber stayed in Troy to finish her final year of architecture school, the two made long weekends count with bus rides and long drives. They quickly learned how unreliable the Greyhound could be, and more than once, Eric made the five-hour round trip just to pick Amber up and bring her to Boston. Those months of long distance made the time they shared all the more meaningful, and before long, Boston became home for them both. Looking back, what started as a chance encounter at a college party became the beginning of a life they couldn’t imagine any other way.
