There are two large airports (Chania and Heraklion) and one small one serving the east coast (Sitia Public). We recommend flying into either Chania and Heraklion, and whichever is more convenient to your hotel or sightseeing adventures!
Yes! Please see our Travel section for some. Unfortunately, booking blocks of rooms is not a local practice, but there's an awesome range of hotels and resorts from which to choose your perfect Crete experience!
Crete does not have Uber in general but has a convenient taxi system available via call or app. If you plan to go on sightseeing adventures, then a car rental may be worth considering. Check with your hotel to see if they have a transportation or taxi call service for convenient transportation (many do). Hotels may also have their own airport shuttles, so please consider your accommodation's transportation services when booking. Shuttles to and from the venue will be available on the wedding day!
May weather on Crete should be pleasant with temperatures in the 70s during daytime and 60s during nighttime. Remember, the UV index will be high so be prepared with sunscreen! The wedding will be outdoors, so consider bringing a light jacket or sweater if possibly needed for the evening.
The bride and groom will be arriving late on May 16th and staying to May 23rd. We welcome everyone to book their Greece trip for the dates that best suit their travel plans, and everyone is welcome to stop by the bridal party villa ahead of the festivities!
