Confluence Brewing Company
This is our favorite brewery in Des Moines. It is located near downtown and walking distance to Des Moines' largest park (Gray's Lake Park).

Science Center of Iowa
If you have some kiddos with you and have a couple hours to hang out check out the Science Center of Iowa. This is where Amber works three days a week, doing the weather on the second level green screen for Channel 13's noon show. If you want to check this out, let Amber know and she may be able to hook you up with some tickets!
Fong's Pizza
This is our absolute favorite pizza place! Fong's Pizza is an asian-style pizza place (they have regular pizza too) that we fell in love with right when we moved to Des Moines. It's a place we frequent thanks to their amazing happy hour. Weekdays from 4-6 PM they offer half off appetizers (we suggest the crab rangoon) and if you buy a beer you get a free slice of pizza (they usually offer 2 types of pizza for this deal). It's also a great spot for lunch. They offer pizza by the slice and sometimes that's the best way to go!
Pappajohn Sculpture Park
If you are an art lover this is a great place for a walk! This just around the corner from Amber's work and is a place where she sometimes takes a walk on her lunch break.
Peace Tree Brewing Co. - Des Moines Branch
Peace Tree is another great brewery and is located very close to the Staybridge Suites! We love to bring Fitz here when the weather is nice!
Pho 888
Obviously we are getting married in June and 3 of the past 5 years have recorded highs in the 90s on the 15th, but we certainly don't judge! Pho 888 is one of our favorite places to eat. Pho is vietnamese soup that we get all time time in Des Moines. They do have other things besides pho that are also delicious!
