A long time ago, in the year 2011, Cassie attended Oliver! The Musical at Desert Stages Theatre in Scottsdale, AZ. Cassie’s friend was in the show, and quickly introduced Cassie to the cute ensemble member named Matt. A year later, Cassie and Matt would fall in love in the way that only 8th graders can, and dated for a year and a half. After their freshman year at separate high schools, they drifted apart and ended their relationship. However, they stayed friends, much to the dismay of their friends and a few others (sorry exes) and always rooted for each other. In fall of 2017, after graduating high school, Matt moved to Flagstaff, AZ, to begin college at Northern Arizona University. He came back to Phoenix that winter, and asked Cassie to hang out. They both told everyone it wasn’t a date, and that the next time wasn’t either. By the time their second non-date was over after 8 hours, they knew they were lying. The next day, January 7, Matt brought Cassie home to his family, and asked her, very eloquently of course, to introduce her as his girlfriend. A few short months later, after many Greyhound bus rides and lots of weekend trips, Cassie and Matt began looking for apartments together. By August of 2018, Matt and Cassie were living together with their very cool roommate. In the following years, they would share spontaneous road trips, take the Amtrak to California, get a car, host many game nights, adopt a dog (the sweetest Chloe!) and eventually move to New York City. Now they are headed back to Flagstaff for a limited time only-to tie the knot and hit the road! Matt and Cassie have loved each other in some way for over a decade, and plan to for many more.
