it's a celebration

We were supposed to meet on Friday the 13th. We met one day later, on a sunny Saturday in May, at a dive bar in Chicago, and immediately started laughing & discussing the bleaker sides of things. We were strangers, but had somehow always known one another. Now we share a home and have a baby. We make music and delicious tacos. We laugh with each other every single day. Weddings, births, funerals, human rituals that mark transitions, honor experience, highlight love and loss, are all communal events because humans can't help but want to share their lives, their griefs, their hopes and dreams, with one another. We wish to share with all of you our wedding ritual as a part of our annual Dia de Muertos gathering- some of you have been to ones in the past- to glorify life, observe death, and celebrate the divine and cosmic power of true love. We appreciate you wanting to rejoice with us! True love is tubular extreme slime time. Praise the slime!
