Things To Do

Please don't make our wedding your only event in Montana! We will be here for a few days before and after the wedding and want you to take advantage of everything Big Sky country has to offer. We hope to plan some group activities in the coming months and would love for you to join us, or to explore and enjoy Montana on your own. Please note that activities book up quickly. We highly recommend making reservations in advance. Additionally, advanced reservations for dining and restaurants is strongly encouraged.

Hiking

Hike Uplands Trail

Aspen Leaf Drive, Big Sky, Montana

This is where we were hiking when Michael proposed! Uplands is a great, easily accessible trail for those looking to get in a short outdoor workout or spot some of the local wildlife. A dirt-surfaced 2.2-mile loop, Uplands has a steady uphill climb for the first mile, leading hikers, bikers and trail runners through fields of wildflowers, aspen groves and forest canopy. "Moderately difficult" and less than a mile from the Town Center.

Hike Beehive Basin

Beehive Basin Rd, Gallatin Gateway, Montana

Voted top ten most beautiful hikes. We have hiked it a few times. Pack a lunch and eat it at the top! This "moderately challenging" 6.6 mile round trip hike slopes up moderately with an elevation gain of 1,500 feet giving views of Lone Peak along the way.

Hike Ousel Falls

Ousel Falls Rd, Gallatin Gateway, MT 59730

Great views on a quick 45-minute, 1.6 mile round trip hike. Meanders through the woods before turning back at the base of a 100-foot waterfall.

Horseback Riding

Yeehaw!

Yellowstone National Park

(307) 344-7381

If you've never been, the sights you can see here are like nothing else. It's nice to say you got to see Old Faithful, but don't worry if you miss it. There are many other geysers in the park. Old Faithful is notable because its schedule is fairly predictable.
