Brock was born to the Family of Odle, which has been resident of the peaceful valley of Ojai for three generations. A large and tight-knit family, the Odles have held high honors in the town since their arrival. From merchants to healers and educators to investigators of crime, the Odles have integrated themselves as essential to the land and the people of the area. Brock, following closely in his family's footsteps, attended Nordhoff School as a young man. Here, he took an interest in both the arts and technology. Amara was the youngest and only daughter born to her mother, Anne. Her three brothers ventured out on their own paths when she was quite young, but remained stable and protective forces in her life. She spent much of her youth with her mother in the unforgiving desert, before they arrived to the lush Ojai Valley. Amara was immediately captivated by the beauty and magic of the quaint town, and felt a strange connection to it. She soon began attending Nordhoff, where she fell in line with a unique and truehearted group of companions.

It was in Brock's final (and Amara's penultimate) season at Nordhoff when the two were introduced through a mutual friend, bridesmaid Natalie. Amara was quickly struck by Brock's open and friendly nature. Over the course of the year, she found her fondness for him growing. Finally, she confessed her feelings to another close friend. Known for her cunning and sprightly behavior, this friend crafted a way to draw them together. One pleasant Spring afternoon, Amara was summoned mysteriously to join her friend. Cloaking her devious plans with an air of mischief and pulling Amara behind, her only words were that they needed to be quick. Amara asked what was going on, but she remained silent. Finally, they appeared before a door and Amara was pushed inside. As the door closed behind her, she only heard her friend's voice whisper "Ask him to the dance." She turned around to see Brock, sitting deeply in thought. As the words her friend uttered sank in, she felt them land in the pit of her stomach. She greeted Brock, trying to ignore the jittering feeling growing. As she made inconsequential conversation, the words themselves seemed to be climbing from her stomach to her chest. Suddenly, a summoning bell rang, and the two prepared to leave. As they left the room together, she felt the words coalescing and swirling, and without warning they sprang out: "Wait!" He looked at her confused as the words continued to pour out of her, out of her control. When all the words had finally been purged, the two looked at each other, each astounded in their own way. Finally, he answered simply: "Yes." It wasn't until much later, she realized what had been done.

The relationship between the two blossomed over the next several years. There was an unprecedented familiarity between the two that both intrigued and delighted them. Two imaginative souls, the budding romance sparked a surge of creativity between them, expressed through song, art, and poetry. During their early courtship the two often explored Ojai together, enchanted by the pink sunsets and sparkling stars above the mountainous horizon. But in a young love, growing pains are inevitable. Life increasingly became complex as the two stepped into adulthood, as it is known to do. The greatest teacher, life soon taught them that although they were strong together, they still needed to find wholeness within themselves. With heavy hearts, they separated in search of themselves, unsure of when or if they would reunite. Over the course of a year, the two focused heavily on their respective missions, losing contact but never forgetting each other. In their solitude, it became clear that something burned in the space between them like an invisible tether. With each piece of themselves that they discovered, the tether quietly strengthened. Eventually, it could not go undetected, and they followed the tether back to each other again. When they met, their relationship sparked like never before, erupting in a cascade of shared memories, experiences, and dreams. Stronger than ever, the two sought to take on life together through excitement and companionship. Over the years, they have undergone travels of all kinds, experiencing the wonders of the world. From befriending amazing creatures (including their loyal familiars Robin and Arthur), to discovering the bounties and beauty of the Earth, to simple day trips with family and friends, the spirit of fantasy and adventure binds them.

Through their journeys, the two grew closer and their love burned brighter. It seemed that there was nothing more that could be added to make their life better.
