FAQs

Question

When should I book my flight?

Answer

We have been coming to Maui for Memorial Day Weekend for going on three years now. We have found cheap airfare ($200 roundtrip) as early as November on airlines like Alaska, United, or Southwest.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We want you to be comfortable! The property is massive so plan your footwear accordingly. If you need some inspiration, just know that the first season of The White Lotus was filmed just up the road. Lean into the island vibes...

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Keep in mind that Hawaii is an island (duh) but that tends to hike up prices quite a bit. Some of the things we make it a point to pack are: aloe, sunscreen (only mineral sunscreen is sold on the island), lightweight water bottles (your hotel may provide them), floatie inner tubes, plastic plates (the 50¢ ones from Target), a cutting board, and a portable kettle (this will make more sense as you read on).

Question

What's the grocery store hack?

Answer

There's a Safeway and a Costco on the way from the airport to Wailea/Kihei. We have worked to perfect a grocery list that allows for us to have many of our meals taken care of (oatmeal or peanut butter roll-ups for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch or dinner). GET AHEAD OF TIME AND PACK WITH YOU 🌺 Trader Joe's single serving trail mix packs 🌺 Justin's peanut butter squeeze pouches (1/person/day) DRINKS 🌺 Beer 🌺 Cutwater Mai Tai 🌺 Iced coffee 🌺 Creamer BREAKFAST 🌺 Instant oatmeal 🌺 Nuts 🌺 Berries 🌺Tortillas 🌺 Bananas 🌺 Peanut butter LUNCH OR DINNER 🌺 Bread 🌺 Cucumber 🌺 Tomato 🌺 Sliced cheese 🌺 Deli cuts (turkey or ham) 🌺 Mayo (Safeway has single-serving packets at the deli) 🌺 Avocado or guacamole 🌺 Chips

Question

Is the Spam Musubi at ABC Store good?

Answer

ABC Store is a Hawaii staple convenience store. You can get everything from boogie boards to dolphin stuffed animals there. You can also get $2 Spam Musubi! Is it worth it? One of us thinks it makes the must-eat list, the other thinks it smells a whole lot like cat food. We'll let you decide.
