We owe you big time, Kiawah...

March of 2014

I'll take this one, guys. -A I was a Senior in college at the time, competing in a golf tournament with my team in Hilton Head, SC when I received a call for a job interview on Kiawah Island. My mom and dad were attending the tournament so once the event concluded, the team headed home while I hitched a ride with my parents to, what I didn't know at the time, was much more than just a job interview. I arrived at Cougar Point Golf Club and walked through the doors of the pro shop to meet the First Assistant Golf Professional for my interview. As I walked to the counter I was greeted by the most handsome smile I had ever seen. Sorry but come on, you've met him, you know. Anyway, Sean was not who I was interviewing with so, after we exchanged introductions, I went into my interview. I was offered the job, which I graciously accepted, and moved to Charleston after graduation in May. Sean and I worked together for a few months and kept things very professional. We actually never even hung out outside of work! Later in the year, Sean received a promotion which meant that he had to leave Cougar Point and go to one of the other resort courses which, unfortunately for me, meant we would no longer be seeing each other everyday. Don't worry, I hid my disappointment well. Looking back, probably too well. Fast forward a couple months, Sean invited a bunch of his friends, myself included, to watch his brother, Evan, DJ at a hot spot downtown. I happened to be going to a concert a couple streets over that night so I thought it was a perfect opportunity to casually stop by and maybe spend some time with him. My friend, Elle, and I arrived at the bar after the concert and spoke to Sean briefly. When the time came to leave, I knew a simple goodbye just wouldn’t do. I walked up to Sean and kissed him before leaving. The rest, as they say, is history!
