We'll give you a hint.... We didn't meet online or on a dating app... We didn't meet each other through friends and we surely weren't high school sweethearts... So where could we have possibly met you ask? At a dive bar of course!! It was a hot and muggy summer night in July 2016 when fate led us underneath the only working air conditioning vent in a packed dive bar called 1st Street in Encinitas, CA. Ryan initially had laid claim to the spot but briefly left to get a cold beer from the bar. When he returned he quickly realized that not only had his spot been seized, but it now laid claim to a beautiful blonde with her hair blowing in the wind from the arctic blast coming from the vent above. "Hey, that's my spot!" he said. Immediately regretting what he may have just done by asking her to abandon the spot and disappear into a bar room full of people never to be seen again. But before he could even think twice and say just kidding, she responded back..."Looks like it's my spot now", with a sassy smirk on her face. We exchanged numbers that night, not knowing that this silly run in at a bar would truly turn into a happily ever after. During our official 1st date one week later, we realized that we had many things in common; a nurse and a firefighter, with a questionable but relatable morbid sense of humor, a love for nature and the outdoors, a love for animals, live music, and many more. But the most indispensable of all, is that we shared the desire to travel the world, and we both wanted someone special to share those memories with. We had found each other, we were soulmates, and it didn't take long to figure that out. We knew that when we did get married, we wanted to have a destination wedding so that we could share with our family and friends what it was that brought us together in the beginning. Traveling to distant lands to love and to cherish the memories we made there! We feel SOO incredibly fortunate to share this memory with our closest family and friends, so come sail away with us and ¡Vamos a México!
