Travel Note
Camping is an awesome way to experience the area. Many RV parks & developed campgrounds provide bathrooms and water & power hookups. If you have time before or after the wedding weekend, we recommend reserving a site in Grand Teton or Yellowstone National Parks. Most sites in the National parks are reserved on a 6-month rolling basis and fill up quick! Visit Recreation.gov to reserve a site in Late December for preferred locations. Yellowstone has some sites that can be reserved now at https://www.yellowstonenationalparklodges.com/stay/camping/. Please let us know if you are interested in RV camping during your visit on the RSVP page. We can help provide an accessible site to call "home" for the weekend of the wedding & give additional guidance if needed!
Travel Note
While developed campsites have their draw, dispersed camping provides the ultimate adventure and privacy people seek when visiting the area. Dispersed camping is available in most of the National Forest land with few restrictions. Please visit the fs.nsda website for site-specific information on any fees & regulations that may apply. Sites can be competitive, so always have a backup plan! Claim your spot with a tent, or leave your trailer behind when leaving the Site to explore. Our favorite places to camp: Greys River Corridor - Located in our backyard in Alpine, Greys River Road is a 60-mile-long "backcountry highway" that offers endless campsites along the river, easily accessible by large RVs. We have spent many summer weekends exploring here! Shadow Mountain - Located in Amanda's Parents' backyard, Shadow Mountain Road rises above the Valley directly across from the Teton Mountain range with incredible views, making it quite popular. This is the first place Peter visited in Jackson and it instantly won his heart! While this Site is accessible by RV, the crowds can make it difficult to find a large enough spot so, have a backup plan! Curtis Canyon - Peter called this location home during his first summer working in Jackson. This is the closest dispersed camping to the Town of Jackson and looks out over the National Elk Refuge. The roads in Curtis Canyon are precarious and bringing an RV up there can be sketchy. Drive with caution! Spread Creek - A beautiful and flat valley easily accessible by large RV & close to Grand Teton National Park. The bison and pronghorns like to hang out in the area so it's possible to have some close encounters in the immediate surrounding areas! Please let us know if you are interested in camping during your visit on the RSVP page. We may be able to provide an accessible site to call "home" for the weekend of the wedding & give additional guidance if needed!
