Men: Jacket and tie Women: Semi-formal or cocktail dresses We would love for you to embrace the spirit of spring by wearing your favorite pastel colors or floral patterns. We kindly ask that guests refrain from wearing dresses with a significant amount of white so that the bride can stand out on her special day. Given that our wedding will be in a garden setting, we recommend opting for chunky heels or wedges instead of stilettos to avoid sinking into the grass. Weather can be unpredictable, so come prepared with a light jacket or pashmina for your comfort.
Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. This includes plus-ones and children. Thank you for understanding!
We are having an "unplugged ceremony". This means that we are asking all phones and devices be put away and on silent during the ceremony. We have hired a professional to capture some of the most important moments of our day, and we would hate to have a well-meaning person's phone blocking that moment for them to capture. After the ceremony is complete, feel free to take as many photos as you'd like! We kindly ask that you stay out of the photographers' way so they are able to capture everything as well. If you do take any photos, please send them or tag us so we can share them as well! We will be sure to share our ceremony pictures as soon as we receive them.
Yes! Guest parking is available in Welkinweir’s visitor parking lot, less than a quarter mile along Prizer Road from the Estate House entrance. Welkinweir Shuttles, specifically for on-site transportation, will pick up and drop off wedding guests at the far end of the parking lot for travel to and from the estate.
No earlier than 4:30pm for a prompt 5pm ceremony Be mindful that this is a holiday weekend. For anyone driving, double-check the traffic on your route before leaving!
There will be a shuttle provided for transportation from the parking lot to the estate. The walk from the estate to the ceremony site is grassy and on a slight incline. If you require additional assistance to walk to the ceremony from the estate, please let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.
Our ceremony and cocktail hour are scheduled to take place outside on the grounds of the estate, with the reception taking place within a tented area and the estate itself. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved inside the tent.
Welkinweir is a non-smoking facility. During the event, there will be a designated smoking area adjacent to the breezeway of the estate.
