We're getting married!

Milton and Amanda met when they were both working for Cumberland County Children and Youth Services. Milton transferred from another county in 2019. When Milton's cubicle moved behind Amanda's, he wasn't sure how to take her cheery "good mornings" and corny jokes. The two became fast friends, often joking and laughing together in the aisle. When Amanda decided to leave the county to work as a school social worker in the summer of 2021, she called Milton to let him know. She didn't understand his reaction, but Milton remembers feeling shocked, happy, and relieved. He was surprised but excited for her and also knew it was time to shoot his shot at becoming more than friends.

During a FaceTime soon after Amanda left the county, Milton asked Amanda "do you really want to know?" when she asked if he missed her. The rest is history. A very slow history because it took Amanda quite a while to realize and accept how she was feeling. Milton never wavered and was patient but consistent. He was all in from the beginning but gave Amanda time to realize what was right in front of her. The two spoke often, started spending time together, and built a close friendship. Things changed when Amanda planned a special celebration for Milton's birthday in 2022 - complete with a winery, homemade dinner, and Star Wars. After he expressed his continued feelings towards Amanda, she realized there was no denying the love and connection they had. As Milton always reminded Amanda, their love was #inevitable #fate.

Milton and Amanda's relationship grew as the two dated, spent time with each other's families, and enjoyed their time together - in the big moments and the quiet ones. Milton pictured a future with Amanda from the beginning but started planning his proposal in the beginning of 2024. While on a family vacation, Milton took Amanda on a walk around the neighborhood and popped the question! He talked about making new traditions and building a life together. She gave a quick and enthusiastic yes! The two celebrated with family, each other, and started planning the start of their forever together.
