We’re getting married!

We met online through Plenty of Fish and, after corresponding for a few weeks, met up at Rock Bottom Brewery. I was late because one of the cheerleaders was picked up late from practice whereas John arrived on time wearing a blue suit with a teal shirt (I didn't believe him when he advised he would be doing so). I was wearing my casual Friday attire of flannel and jeans. I happened to be starting the American Revolution unit so my undershirt said "Keep calm and start a Revolution," which made me a little nervous. We sat down to dinner and talked for hours, but one of the most striking things we spoke about was the idea of Ancient Greek warfare (Odd conversation piece, admittedly, but nerdy enough for the both of us). Our second date was at the Fox Valley Mall, where we spent time at the arcade and John actually went back to win a particular stuffed unicorn for me at a later time. I thought it would be a waste of time to attempt it. He had other plans, and three attempts resulted in a clean capture which he presented to me on our third date. As time went on, we grew closer until John officially asked me to be his girlfriend in December (Let the record reflect that there was some stubborn opposition on my part, damned reservations and such). We have grown in love and friendship ever since. We challenge each other's minds and provide great conversation about some of the most abstract topics imaginable. Eclectic would be an appropriate descriptor. We have set out on an adventure together, we have purchased a home together, meshed and merged and, to varying degrees, clashed our styles. We have made our home to match our styles-whimsical and eccentric, serious and silly. We have joined together as partners, as a team, to love and support one another come what may. So, finally we decided to embark together on this journey as husband and wife. So let us leave this with an open ended ellipsis, since the story has only just begun...
