From school concerts to playing at recess, we would have never guessed our fate was woven with love for one another. In kindergarten, we occasionally played at recess some days, and pretended each other didn’t exist in the classroom most of the days. Assigned the same school district, we continued as classmates throughout the next 12 years. However, the familiar face became more of a comfort. And that comfort grew into an acquaintanceship as more random kids were added to our school days and the classroom. After high school, we became part of the same mutual friend group. Giving each other glances, acknowledging the years of history behind knowing each other. Jake became my weird goth friend that I could always count on to see scary movies with and finding out that he loved cats just as much as I did truly solidified our friendship. After a few years of being friends it became the running joke with our group that him and I would get married and have 33 kids together, because that is my favorite number. As time went on our joke turned more into flirting and the feelings began to secretly grow. With the help of a few friends wedding’s we finally realized how much we each liked one another and started dating. The more time we spent together, the more we wanted to exist together always. Just about two years into dating, Jake proposed to me at Minnehaha Falls, where we had our first official date. I never would have thought that I would ever find such a perfect person to fall in love with. September 21st, 2019 will mark 3 years and 3 months of being together and it could not be any more meant to be.
