FAQs

Question

How is the wedding stay structured?

Answer

For 3 nights, we have exclusive use of Villa Alta for our wedding and accommodations for 24 guests on the premises. For our other guests, you can book accommodations at a nearby villa, Borgo Studianti. We will set up an optional shuttle from the airport/a predetermined meeting point to the villa(s), where guests can check in for the first night (September 1st). A paid shuttle will also be available to take you to the airport/common area on the morning of check out (September 3rd/4th). If you wish to get your own accommodations, rent a car or shuttle, you are more than welcome to. Parking is available at Villa Alta and Borgo Studianti.

Question

What am I responsible for planning the trip?

Answer

All guests are responsible for purchasing their flights to and from Italy. For those staying at Villa Alta, you are responsible for any hotel accommodations prior to September 1st and on/after September 4th, depending on when they choose to arrive/depart. For those staying at Borgo Studianti, you are responsible for your hotel accommodations. It is recommended to arrive a day or two before September 1st, so you can recover from the long flight and/or do some sightseeing prior to arrival at the villa, but the choice is yours.

Question

Where will we be staying?

Answer

Villa Alta can accommodate up to 24 guests; the remaining guests will be at Borgo Studiati, a closeby villa. We will be covering the stay at Villa Alta as part of the 3-night wedding week. For those who will stay at Borgo Studiati you will be covering your stay. We will provide you with all the information about your stay closer to the date.

Question

What is the wedding week itinerary?

Answer

The first night, guests will check in at 3 pm, and we will be having a welcome/rehearsal dinner. On the second day, enjoy breakfast at the villa, and if you're not part of the wedding party, enjoy time by the pool or visit the nearby town before the wedding, which starts at 6 pm. On the third and final day, you are free to explore the area, hang by the pool, etc., at your leisure.

Question

What is the weather going to be like in Italy?

Answer

Summer may be over, but the weather in Tuscany is still warm. We do recommend you pack a light jacket for the evening. Expect a typical daytime high of 27℃ (81℉), and a low of 17℃ (62℉) overnight.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Our dress code is formal dress. We suggest guests wear a suit in any color or a cocktail dress (or even a nice pantsuit). Please note to get to the ceremony there is a short downhill walk on an uneven path and the ceremony is on grass; choose your footwear accordingly.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

While we love your children, we’ve decided to have an adults-only celebration. Thank you for making arrangements.

Question

What to do nearby?

Answer

Villa Alta is located in Rigoli, in the municipality of San Giuliano Terme. It is strategically located for visiting the most characteristic places of Tuscany, like Pisa, Firenze, Lucca, etc. Villa Alta will assist you in planning any activities. Check out their website: villaalta.it, to get more ideas of what to do.

Question

What if I can't make it to your wedding in Italy?

Answer

We know that it is a lot to ask of you to travel to Italy for our wedding, and we understand if you're unable to attend. We will be hosting a celebration closer to home in the months after our wedding in Italy. So we hope you are able to attend either event to celebrate our marriage! More details to come.

Question

What travel documents are needed?

Answer

A tourist visa is not required for people staying less than 90 days. You will need a passport. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned date of departure. Passports must have 2 blank pages for an entry stamp.
