We met in college! A sweet and simple love story. Davis was attending Maritime College, while Amanda was attending The College of Mount Saint Vincent, both located in the Bronx. Early in Davis' junior year, he began looking for a date to his colleges' Navy Ball. They both ended up on the same dating app. They got to know one another and Davis asked Amanda out on their first date. Davis picked Amanda up and they went for sushi. After a few more dates, Davis asked Amanda to be his date to the Navy Ball for Maritime College. Ever since that first sushi date, Amanda and Davis fell in love, and found their forever.

Davis and Amanda were living in Newport, Rhode Island for a few months for Davis to attend schooling for his next assignment. He was learning how to become the Navigator for the USS Michael Murphy in Hawaii! While in Newport, Davis and Amanda learned that one of their favorite musicians, Warren Zeiders, was going to be in Boston! Immediately, they made plans to be in Boston for that weekend to attend Warren's concert. The news of the concert had been announced in early August, and thats when Davis began planning his proposal. Davis had reached out to a local jeweler in Newport. Knowing what Amanda's style is, Davis didn't love any plain options for engagement rings. He explored all styles, and came to the conclusion the ring needed to be made custom. Customizing it to perfection, took months. While finalizing the ring, he began making his plan to propose. He had found a waterside park along the Boston Harbor, and planned to stroll through it on their way to "Seaport", a Boston winter market, known for delicious treats and drinks! Jump forward to early November, a crisp Saturday comes along. Davis and Amanda travel by train from Newport into Boston. While getting ready that morning, they both dressed for cold weather, a perfect opportunity for Davis to hide the ring! Davis was wearing a bulky winter coat, and Amanda tapped his pocket, asking, "You've got the keys in there, right?" unknowingly actually tapping the box with her soon to be ring inside!! Davis played it off very cool, saying, "Yep!" and Amanda didn't think twice. Phew! After checking into the Langham Hotel in Boston, they braved the cold and went for that harbor side stroll. It was quiet, not many people in the park. They started talking about how excited they were for the evening ahead, and somehow landed on the topic of their future. Seeing his window, Davis got down on one knee, with Amanda's hand in his, asked her if she would marry him...YES! After enjoying those first moments of being engaged, and Davis debriefing Amanda on this whole process, they proceeded back to the Langham, with another surprise in store for Amanda. Davis had called the hotel days prior telling them of his plans. The hotel set up the room while they were gone with balloons, champagne, streamers and pastries to celebrate. Later that night, they saw Warren Zeiders in concert, completing their magnificent day. The weekend was magical, and a memory they will hold dear to their hearts forever.
