Wedding Party

The Wedding Website of Amanda Roe and David Dormady
We are so excited to introduce you to our friends and family who will be standing with us on our big day. Each and every one of them has played a vital role in our story and we wouldn't be where we are today without them. We were so blessed to have our Matron and Maid of Honor, as well as our Best Man and one of our brothers with us last year when we tied the knot for round one. We are so incredibly excited to have the whole gang with us this time to stand up before ALL our friends and family and reaffirm our vows to each other.

Rachael Walther

Matron of Honor

Amanda has known Rachael since the day Rachael was born, just 4 months after she was. They grew up in the same neighborhood, and like them, their moms are also besties. Rachael is more of a sister to Amanda than anything, as they grew up doing everything together; making exclusive clubs, having game nights, putting on shows for families, getting in huge fights and making up again, sneaking out of the house, anything you name it, it was done. Many afternoons and late nights were spent sharing hopes and dreams for the future. It is safe to say, if one person knows everything there is to know about Amanda, it's Rachael. They don't hold anything back, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Although college came along and they no longer lived down the street from each other anymore, they still made a way to spend holidays together, share all of life's big breakthroughs and be there for each other. It was no question who Amanda's Matron of Honor would be on her special day and she is so thankful to have Rachael standing with her not once, but twice!

Jodi Lewis

Maid of Honor

Amanda and Jodi met at Mrs. Greens, an old dining hall at JMU that sadly no longer exists. Amanda was going through a difficult breakup at the time, and they discovered that they were both going to be in the accounting program together. It was only a matter of time before they became best friends. Jodi was there for Amanda in every way imaginable up to and including sleeping in a chair throughout the night when Amanda had to have her appendix emergently removed during senior year. Jodi has never failed to show up to all the big things in Amanda's life: every move across the country, every surprise party, even the engagement of Amanda and David. Jodi remains Amanda's calm through every storm, her continuous encouragement and support when she feels like she's not good enough (through THREE years of grad school rejection and many horrible breakups) and helps her process through spiraling thoughts - even at 3 am on random mornings. Jodi surely has become a part of the family, joined in on all of the wild adventures and has handled the Roe family chaos like a champ.

Kaila Bartee

Bridesmaid

Her name is “Kaila Bartee, the life of the Par-tee” she “loves Amanda Roe because …. THATS WHATS GOOD!!” - season 1 episode 14 of the Kaila and Amanda Show. Amanda and Kaila go way back to when having braces was cool and making YouTube channels was a child’s favorite pass time. That was the TikTok of their generation. Between George Mason basketball games, late nights at the Dance studio, creating the Kaila and Amanda Show, and eventually being on dance team together at their high school; nothing was off limits when it came to the stories these two would create for their future selves to share. The two of them even survived Hurricane Earl in the Outer Banks together, even have photos to prove it. 100 % safest decision they ever made, no doubt. Kaila and Amanda sadly went to different colleges and joined separate dance teams, but it never once stopped them from continuing to meet up, hang out and be there for each other no matter what life threw their way.

Jasmine Long

Bridesmaid

Jasmine and Amanda met though Jasmine’s twin sister and they quickly bonded. Jasmine was a year ahead of Amanda in school which meant she got her license first giving them the perfect opportunity to do all the fun things like get Starbucks and ride to events together since Amanda couldn’t drive anywhere yet…perks of having an older best friend. The two were never seen apart, always meeting up between classes to walk to their next class together, they even figured out what same classrooms they would be in and would tape notes underneath the desks with code names for fun. They were famously known for setting the world record for the longest ooVoo sleepover which was tragically almost ruined by her sister when she closed the laptop (lol). Jasmine was always Amanda’s perfect gate keeper for all things in need of organization. She was her “dance manager,” coming to every single dance competition, showing up at 3 am to help her straighten or curl her hair, drive to Starbucks for coffee to help her wake up, and make sure Pammy was ready to get rolling out of the house to be on time. Amanda is so thankful and blessed to have a best friend like her standing by her side on the day of her wedding knowing all of the wonderful and fond memories that they have shared together and will continue to make.

Amber Tsimbidis

Bridesmaid

Amanda met Amber when she changed dance studios the summer before freshman year of high-school. Amber was only about to start 5th grade at the time. Growing up Amanda and Darren always wanted another sibling and Amanda felt that coming across Amber was a total God nod. The three of them spent lots of time together, Amanda and Amber mostly at the dance studio, but then together as a whole family on several occasions across many vacations and holidays. Amber is Amanda’s God given sister, in fact Amanda straight up calls Amber her sister and many don’t even question it because strangely in photos she blends right in. Amanda is so incredibly thankful for all the fun memories they have shared over the years, the fact that Amber completely and freely speaks her mind no matter the consequences, and the way that she loves and cares for others so deeply. Amanda could not be more grateful that Amber now lives in FLORIDA (!!!) and that they are finally back in the same state for the first time in what seems like an eternity. Amanda is so incredibly proud of Amber’s determination to pursue her dreams and how well she is doing in her doctorate program. She is going to change so many lives for the better, just like she changed Amanda’s. “I love you Porkers!”

Nicole Kurka

Bridesmaid

Nicole is Amanda’s soon to be sister-in-law (let’s gooooo, he put a ring on it !!!) Nicole has been hanging with the Roe family now for just over 3 years (finishing raising Amanda’s brother, because well, duh, someone has to!) and we can’t wait to make her #official. Nicole came into the Roe’s lives at the most perfect time, and we are all so blessed to have her becoming part of the family. Through several family game nights, late night talks, bonding over our sweet kitties and devouring her amazing charcuterie boards, this sisterhood is destined for greatness. Amanda is so incredibly excited to have Nicole standing by her side for their big day and can’t wait to take their first ever big family photo!

Jenny Schaeffer

Bridesmaid

Jenny and Amanda became best friends in the most unexpected of ways, but isn't that always the best type of friendships? Jenny ended up filling an opening in Amanda's townhome in college because she knew both her other roommates. Amanda and Jenny both stayed for summer session that summer and spent several days bonding over the most incredible things. After several late nights of laughter, free Red Lobster biscuits, driving in the rain with a broken window, binging One Tree Hill, and multiple "Emergency Slam Events," the friendship was destined to last a lifetime. Amanda knew Jenny was going to be her bestie for life when she agreed to sleep on a couch by a window of a first floor apartment for several nights just to spend time with her. Jenny always knows how to make Amanda laugh without fail, and is without a doubt the best teacher there ever could be. Be sure to hit her up for some fantastic stories.

Deanna Nye

Bridesmaid

Deanna and Amanda met when Amanda made one of the four spots on the JMU Dukettes coming in her freshman year! Deanna became her BIG shortly after that and the two were inseparable. It wasn’t long until they found out that they were alike in so many ways, down to the fact that they were both in BAND (old me would kill me for saying this- it is my long lost secret- I told everyone I was in choir - wink wink) and Deanna was bad a** enough to dance at half time AND perform in marching band!!! Can you even imagine?!?! I would have passed out and choked on my clarinet. Amanda was blessed enough to have a big who was kind enough to pick her up and drive her around to all the things, since freshman weren’t allowed to have their cars on campus. She would have been so lost without her. Deanna even drove her home and back to school on all the breaks freshman year since she would have been stranded otherwise. Amanda even got to play a pretty decent part in Deanna’s love story which makes Amanda’s heart so incredibly happy. Deanna truly saw Amanda through some of the best and worst times, and she is so thankful to have had such an incredible big by her side through the thick of it. Dance team and JMU wouldn’t have been the same without her.

Marissa Von Kannewurff

Bridesmaid

Amanda and Marissa met through Joe, Marissa’s husband. The three of them were all in the business school together at JMU and they discovered that they would all be in intermediate accounting and businesses law together. It wasn’t long before Amanda and Marissa became best friends. Although they were in different sororities, they always found ways to meet up at the same parties and find ways to take photos together before formals; Marissa was even Amanda’s date once to a semi formal because who needs boys anyways, haha. From late night study sessions, to campus crawls, to Game Days at JMU, the two have loads of stories to tell, and so many more to make. Amanda is so incredibly thankful to have made a best friend like Marissa during her time at JMU and is so thankful that they were able to stay connected and continue to meet up for events even after Amanda moved across the country.

Erica Allen

Bridesmaid

“Hey I know we just met, but do you want to go to Austin?!” …. And the rest was history. Amanda and Erica met through a mutual friend who Amanda had known from EMT school in Texas. Erica was Amanda’s first best friend in Texas and she was forever grateful for that. The moment they met it was a friendship match made in Heaven….. but literally. The two immediately planned a trip to visit Austin, TX together after only knowing each other for a few hours. After that trip they did everything together. From walking through McDonalds drive throughs, to eating Velvet Taco on the floor of Amanda’s apartment (because they discovered it tastes way better when eaten on the ground), to finding themselves in the most random of situations that they will forever laugh about to this day, Amanda will forever be thankful she found a friend like Erica to spend her days with in Texas. In Amanda’s time in Texas, Erica also brought Amanda back to Jesus which she is eternally grateful for. The two of them started attending church together and went to an overnight retreat weekend that was life changing for Amanda. Amanda hasn’t looked back on her faith since that weekend. Amanda is so blessed to have Erica by her side on her big day.

Kaylynn Businger

Bridesmaid

The day Amanda met Kaylynn was possibly one of the worst days of Amanda’s life and Kaylynn, an absolute stranger, showed up for Amanda like she was her best friend in the entire world for a million years, without anyone even asking her to. When you come across someone like that in your life, you don’t let them go, because that is a genuinely good person. Kaylynn had recently been hired on at AMR as a dispatcher and got assigned to Amanda’s ambulance to do a ride out in the streets to see what it was like to be in the field. The day had its ups and downs but they over all had a genuinely good time together. What stood out most to Amanda was how she had been there for her, staying several hours after their shift to be with her to help her through personal issues despite having just met her. Amanda and Kaylynn never stopped hanging out after that and their friendship only became stronger. It was really hard when Amanda moved for PA school but Kaylynn surprised Amanda on New Years and visited her the first year she was in Florida. Amanda is so thankful to have Kaylynn in her life as a best friend and standing by her side on her wedding day.

Melissa Cook

Bridesmaid

Melissa and Amanda met when they both were accepted into the same PA program and realized they lived in the same apartment complex. They met up for dinner one night to feel out the possibility of a friendship and it was fireworks at first laugh. Between them bonding over their hubbies having the same birthday, sharing the same middle name, applying to PA school a million times, dealing with the same health issues to a T, and finding out they were supposed to be living in each others apartments; a beautiful friendship blossomed. Melissa and Amanda spent several nights together crying, laughing, studying, feeling like the world was ending, but ultimately coming out stronger than ever because they had each other. Amanda knows she couldn’t have made it through PA school without Melissa by her side.

Jordan Feltis

Bridesmaid

Amanda first met Jordan through social media when they found out they were going to be going to the same PA school together. Amanda took one swipe through her instagram and figured Jordan would never give her the time of day… She was breathtaking. Let’s just say Amanda felt incredibly insecure- no chance that hot girl would be her friend. In a wild turn of events Jordan became one of Amanda’s best friends and rather quickly. Jordan is Amanda’s glass half full girl, her see the bright side when things are dark girl. She never fails to spin a tragic event into something that sounds like it could be great. Everyone needs a Jordy in their life and Amanda found hers. Amanda is so thankful to have met such a sweet soul during PA school and have made a lifelong friend to continue to make sweet memories with.

Brandon Pate

Best Man

David met Brandon when he was just a Paramedic student from Alaska on his internship in Texas. Everyone called David “Alaska” while he was on his internship. When he officially moved to Texas to start working after being offered a job, Brandon and everyone else had to learn David’s real name, lol. Brandon and David have become very good friends over the years and he is someone who David can go to for advice on anything! David and Brandon would hangout almost every weekend and while at work during David’s time in Texas. They would always be exploring new hiking areas, hitting up new fun restaurants, and even went to a Green Bay Packers game. Brandon has visited David and Amanda multiple times since they moved to Florida and he was able to attend the wedding last year. David is honored to be having Brandon stand by his side once again!

Darren Roe

Brother of the Bride & Groomsman

Darren is Amanda’s brother. Darren and David have become good friends over the years and David is honored to have gained him as a brother. They have bonded over many things like sports, whiskey, and Fantasy football. Darren has taught David the ropes of fantasy football and last year they were the Champs in a league even with it being only David’s second year ever playing. Darren and David have been able to get to know each other well during Roe family vacations and during the time spent together over the holidays. David is so thankful to have his brother-in-law stand by his side one more time on their wedding day.

Michael Dormady

Brother of the Groom & Groomsman

Michael is David’s brother that is 2 years older than Donny (one of David’s other brothers). Michael is someone David has always looked up to. A funny story about Michael and David is that when they would fight growing up, to get David to stop fighting, Michael would put his arm around David’s neck and just Flex! Michael’s muscles are big, so as soon as he would do that, David would stop fighting and it would end up with them both just laughing. Michael is someone David calls if he needs advice on grilling, cooking, and anything involving vehicles! During David's time in Texas, Michael would complete training in Kansas City for a few years in a row. That was only 8 hours from where David lived so he was able to go up there to meet Michael. They would enjoy the best BBQ from Jack Stacks and would also explore the Steamboat Arabia museum! David is so blessed to have his big brother by his side on his wedding day.

Donny Dormady

Brother of the Groom & Groomsman

Donny is David’s brother that is closest to him in age as they are only two years apart. Growing up , they were always competitive, even though David knew he wouldn’t catch up to him, it didn’t stop David from trying! Donny was very protective of David, like all of David’s brothers, however, since they were so close in age, Donny was the one able to look out for David the most in school. Donny and David talk often and are very close even though Donny still lives in Alaska. One of David's favorite memories was when Donny's wife surprised Donny with tickets to visit David in Texas! What Donny didn't know was that this was his Bachelor weekend and all of Donny's friends also flew into Texas! They spent the weekend hanging out, laughing, and then going to watch the Green Bay Packers beat the Dallas Cowboy's!!! David is so thankful to have his brother by his side on his wedding day.

Spencer Shisler

Cousin of the Bride & Groomsman

Spencer is one of Amanda’s cousins, but basically her brother, and has been one of her biggest supporters (one might add the most protective!!) David met Spencer while Amanda and David lived in Texas. Amanda and David would come over to spend time with the Shisler’s for family game nights and dinner and Spencer and David became very close as Amanda and David grew in their relationship. Spencer made a game where David would gain or lose points depending on what David did or didn’t do. Spencer had him constantly watching his back to keep him in check. David is very happy to have Spencer as one of his groomsman and supporting them on their big day. “Spencer, we love you so DANG much and wish we still lived in Texas so we could see you more. We are so blessed to call you family and so incredibly thankful to have you in our wedding.”

Russell Dukowitz

Groomsman

Russell is David’s longest friend and they met basically when the two were born. They could both go on and on about the stories they have together growing up from birthday parties, to crazy tattoo experiences, or even about their homemade wine. They have shared many memories throughout their lives and have always made time to see each other no matter what. They have met up all over the United States to see each other. Even though Russell now lives in Denmark, he will be making the trip back to the U.S. to spend a very important day with David and Amanda and it truly shows David how much their friendship means to both of them.

Michael Morton

Groomsman

Michael is Kaila’s, one of Amanda’s best friends, boyfriend. From the second Michael and David met they were instant friends. They have bonded over sports and Bourbon. Every year at Christmas there is a Roe Christmas Party and Michael always brings a few bottles of bourbon for everyone to drink throughout the night. It is a night filled with laughter, jokes, and a lot of bourbon! Even though Michael and David only see each other once or twice a year it is like they never left and feels like they have been friends forever.

Nicolas Munera

Groomsman

Nicholas and David met when Nicholas moved to West Palm for PA school. From the second that they met it was clear to everyone that they would become good friends. Nicholas and David hang out a lot depending on how PA school is going. They are often found chillin’ watching Sports, having good conversations, drinking whiskey/Gin, playing pickleball, going to concerts or kayaking. Nicholas is a go to friend and David is grateful to have met him.

Phil Ditto

Groomsman

Phil and David met on their first day of New Employee orientation at Medstar. They have been through a lot of stuff together, good, bad, and ugly, and have always been there for each other. Phil is someone who David has been able to go to for advice about life and his medical career. David and Phil have become more than friends, they are family! Phil has always called David “Alaska” and when Phil and his wife TJ adopted two sisters to be their daughters, they started calling David “Uncle Alaska” and would run to the door to greet David every time he would come over. Phil and David have bonded over EMS, whiskey, hunting, guns, fishing, and being outdoors. David and Phil also are not allowed to go to gun shows together because it is bound to end up with one of them coming home with a gun!

Chris Roberts

Groomsman

Chris and David met through a friend when Chris came to Medstar. Chris and David were friends when Chris first came to Medstar but the friendship grew even more when they became Mobile Health Paramedics together. Chris is known for his jokes and pranks! David and Chris have become very close over the years. Chris and David also were deployed together to test nursing home patients and staff during the heat of Covid-19. David is so thankful to have Chris as a part of his big day.

Ellie

Flower Girl

Ellie is one of David and Amanda’s beautiful nieces! As the oldest daughter of Michael and Kate, she keeps them busy with her princess flare and fun! She will be sure to have you laughing and might even drag you out with her on the dance floor.

Eden

Flower Girl

Eden is one of David and Amanda’s beautiful nieces! As the oldest daughter of Donny and Alysha, she keeps them busy with her soccer games and dance recitals! She will be sure to show you her brother, Adyson, as she is very proud to be a big sister. She will definitely be dancing the night away on the dance floor and having you smiling all night.

Emma

Flower Girl

Emma is the newest Dormady on the block, daughter of Michael and his wife Kate, making her the youngest of Amanda and David’s nieces. She might not be walking yet in time for the wedding, but you will be sure to find her in matching dresses with her big sister and cousins! She is just as sweet as can be.

Jake

Ring Bearer

Jake is one of Amanda and David’s nephews, son of Michael and Kate. He is the older brother and is always making sure to look out for his two younger sisters. There isn’t a sport this dude doesn’t play- and not only that, he is a walking scientist and dictionary. He might be our future president one day or find the cure for cancer! Who knows!

Adyson

Ring Bearer

Adyson is Donny and his wife Alysha’s youngest child of two, making him David and Amanda’s youngest nephew. He is a sweet bundle of joy and loves spending time with his big sister Eden.

MacKenzie Doughty

Hype Squad

You may be wondering what in fact a “hype squad” is, well MacKenzie has been exactly that to David and Amanda. MacKenzie is one of three girls in the Dormady hype squad. David and Amanda met her when she started in the second cohort at South University for PA school. Over time as they got to know each other better through late night chats or kayaking days, it became clear that MacKenzie would become one of their closest friends. The two simply could not stand up on wedding day without her by their sides. MacKenzie has been playing a key part in Amanda and David wedding by attending dress fittings, helping with little details, and being a huge emotional support (and hype squad) for the couple.

Victoria Toris

Hype Squad

Victoria strolled into the couples life when she moved to Florida to be with with her manz in PA school and to start a bomb job. The second Vic and Amanda met, Amanda knew that she would become an amazing friend. Victoria hosted a surprise bridal shower that was out of this world for Amanda and secretly clued in David. Victoria is the most kind, selfless, and just down right hilarious person you will ever meet. Amanda and David knew they needed her to get the party started and bust a move on the dance floor on their big day.

Danielle Lee

Hype Squad

Danielle and Amanda attended PA school together at South University and became good friends throughout their time at school. Danielle loves a good adventure and game night and quickly her, David and Amanda were out exploring new fun things together. Danielle’s fur baby is Aurora boyfriend and the two spend many days together cuddled up hanging out. Amanda knew she couldn’t stand up on wedding day without Danielle hyping them up and helping start the party.

Bradley Shisler

Officiant

Bradley is Amanda’s Uncle, many know him as Uncle Brad, and when “many” is said, it is true as several of Amanda’s friends have met the acclaimed couple. Uncle Brad is married to Amanda’s Aunt Steph. Since day one, the couple has set a beautiful example of what a partnership should look like: raising a family together, working through change, overcoming challenges, and building a life based off the teachings of Jesus. Uncle Brad set an example for the entire family of what a loving husband and father looks like: not perfect, but prayerful, loving, honest, and most of all walking with values set in the foundation of our Lord and Savior. Amanda and David felt there was absolutely no better person to help them share their vows in front of all their friends and families and they are so blessed and thankful to have Uncle Brad and Aunt Steph in their lives as a couple that they can continue to share time with and have as mentors to talk to and refer to as an example when starting their own family. “Uncle Brad and Aunt Steph: We are forever thankful for your endless love and support of our relationship and the prayers you continue to pour into our lives as we walk through each and every day facing the challenges of so many unexpected things. We are incredibly grateful to have you as family, and as a God centered couple that we can trust to give us sound advice. We love you so much and so blessed to have you as a part of our big day. We hope to make you proud!”

Pamela Roe

Mother of the Bride

Pamela, aka Pammy Poo as many like to call her, is the hippest mom around. She is very much a dance mom and can often be found fixing Amanda's outfits, or pinning everything in just the right place. You may often see her and Amanda getting into it, but FEAR NOT! The sass is just how they communicate: they are working on it, but it sure does give a good show. Pammy would do anything for Amanda because she is the best mama in the world. Pammy is known for her epic dance moves and hilariously inappropriate jokes. She never fails to supply fantastic content for Snapchat and Instagram. It's why everyone keeps coming back for the show. "I Love You so much Mom! I am so thankful for you putting up with me every single day and for you always having my back. Thanks for always being the cool mom and for being my sounding board. Let's do this dance thing one last time!"

David Roe

Father of the Bride

“Daddy Dave” as many know him to be called, is the “make it happen” dad. He is for sure the “wrapped around his daughter’s finger” dad -BUT, he is without a doubt proud of it and wouldn’t change it. Amanda’s dad is always known to kick it back with the friends, take the brunt of all the jokes, and laugh so hard you can’t hear him and his face turns red till everyone worries he isn’t breathing. Amanda’s dad was her soccer coach, her biggest supporter, never missing a dance competition or recital, unless of course Darren had a Soccer tournament, but he never once failed to show up when it mattered. He sat through all the fashion shows, the made up dance routines in the living room, and was a total girl dad, and ROCKED at it. He never complained (well…too much🤣) about how much money all the rhinestones or her “damn dance career” costed him, which is a running joke in the family. “Dad, I am so thankful and blessed to have you as my father. There is no one in this world I enjoy teasing more than you because it’s absolutely hilarious, but “yAh KnOw WhAt?!?!” Would you walk me down the aisle one last time, so I can dance with my father again? I love you so much Dad. Thanks for always putting up with me, continuing to let me tease you because you know it makes me laugh, and for never failing to do the most to try to make me happy.”

Janet Dormady

Mother of the Groom

Janet is David’s mom and someone who David looks up to dearly. Janet is the reason David is where he is today. She has fought for and supported David throughout his entire life and never let his injury control him. She always told him, “There’s no hill for a Climber,” and to keep pushing to achieve his goals in life! Janet has always been a rock for David’s family and would work insane hours to be able to provide for them. She raised 4 boys, worked full time, and achieved her Master’s degree all at the same time. David gets his dedication and work ethic from both of his parents but especially his mom. Since Amanda and David started dating, Janet has visited them multiple times in Texas and Florida. For the last two years, Janet has come to Florida for Thanksgiving and spent time with David, Amanda, and Amanda’s family! Amanda and David are excited to have Janet back in Florida this Thanksgiving and on their special day once again! “I love you so much mom! I truly wouldn’t be where I’m at today without you. Thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for me! Even though I’m getting married I will always be your baby boy.”

**In memory of** Don Dormady

Father of the Groom

It is with incredibly heavy hearts that David's dad will not be able to physically be present on Amanda and David's Wedding Day. We know he is with our Heavenly Father and will always be with us in our hearts and minds. "We love you so much Dad. We hope you are celebrating with us by playing a few rounds of Skip-Bo and having some chocolate milk!"
