David and Amanda’s first date was in November 2023 at a coffee shop in Manhattan, KS. Amanda was talking about her upcoming work trip to Prague. David had just been there a few months prior and was able to give her some travel tips, including a must-see: Prague Castle. It was the best date they’d both ever been on. As their dates continued, they realized that they lived in apartment buildings next door to each other. Their convenient locations allowed for them to see each other every day until David was re-stationed to Fort Huachuca, AZ. They've been doing long distance since April 2024 and are fortunate enough to be able to see each other every month or so. They've explored places like a Western town in Arizona and gone on adventures to a waterpark in the Wisconsin Dells and went paddleboarding through mangroves in Florida. This past summer David was visiting Amanda and her family in Wisconsin. On July 5, 2025 Amanda thought she and David along with her mom, her sister, and her uncle were going on a pontoon ride. David proposed to Amanda during the pontoon ride on a lake she spent much of her childhood on. It was the sweetest, most thoughtful proposal Amanda could’ve ever imagined!
