A lovely granite and limestone bridge spanning the Mississippi River nearby the wedding venue. From the bridge, take in the views of downtown Minneapolis, and of St. Anthony Falls – the only major waterfall on the Mississippi River.
This cool museum is built into the ruins of what was the world's largest flour mill before a catastrophic explosion in 1878. Learn about the history of Minneapolis, and about how the river powered the city's flour industry. Also enjoy the rooftop observation deck.
Get some exercise by running or walking on the trail around Cedar Lake, Lake of the Isles, Bde Maka Ska, and Lake Harriet. Choose your own adventure/distance, and enjoy the glory that is Midwest lake life in the summer!
A lovely park and sculpture garden featuring Minneapolis's iconic spoon bridge and cherry sculpture. Check out the Walker Art Center across the street if you like modern art, or the art festival happening on July 26th-27th at Loring Park across the bridge.
A pretty waterfall in a park with lots of walking and running trails. Live music can usually be found here in the summer.
Comprised of a zoo, a small amusement park, and lots of gardens, Como Park would be a great spot to visit for guests with kids. Admission is free.
This park sits at the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers and has several nice viewpoints. The confluence is a place of spiritual importance to the Dakota people, and was an important trade hub and military fort in the early days of Minnesota statehood.
This pristine wilderness area in northern Minnesota is a hidden gem of interconnected lakes and streams, and was a favorite of Amanda's growing up. Spot moose, loons, and bald eagles from your canoe, and enjoy stars like you've never seen them before. Bonus points for any guests who visit the Boundary Waters before or after the wedding.
