Our Story:
We met in the fall of 2017 at a Stanford football tailgate while pursuing earth science PhDs. We bonded instantly over our shared love for rocks, science, and the outdoors, and soon discovered we were both new members of the university’s triathlon team. During practices and races that winter, our friendship grew—Amanda loved Curt’s friendly nature, his adorable dog Banjo, and his stories from hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. Curtis adored Amanda's adventurous spirit and drooled over her swim splits.
On April 6, 2018, we had our first official date, and we've been inseparable ever since.
In our seven years together, we’ve raced triathlons, backpacked across California, completed PhDs, and squabbled over endless home improvement projects. Curtis proposed last May on a secluded beach in Portugal. Amanda said yes before he could finish his planned speech.
