Whatever makes you feel comfortable and celebratory! We don’t have a formal dress code, but the vibe is evening beach wedding in April in San Diego. The ceremony will be outdoors on the beach, and the reception will be indoors right afterward. Bridesmaids will be in long dresses, the bride in a traditional gown, and the groom in a suit. Groomsmen will be in slacks, button-ups, suspenders, and possibly ties. Think dressy but relaxed. Sundresses, cocktail dresses, dress shirts, slacks, light suits, or nice separates are all great choices. I would also not care if you showed up in jeans and a t-shirt, do you! Since the ceremony is on the beach, you may want to skip stilettos and consider shoes you can walk in easily. bride will likely be removing her heels after the ceremony. Most importantly, wear something that lets you celebrate comfortably and dance.
Yes! We’ll have an open, self-serve bar available during the reception. There will be beer, wine, hard seltzer, champagne, and a few pre-mixed cocktails. We’ll also have vodka, tequila, and whiskey on hand with mixers so you can make simple drinks. Water and soda will be available as well. Please celebrate responsibly and plan ahead for a safe ride home.
We’ll be serving a catered taco bar beginning around 6:30 PM, after speeches. The menu includes three meat options, homemade tortillas cooked to order (which are gluten free), rice and beans, and all the toppings. There will also be vegetarian and vegan filling options available. For dessert, our caterer’s churros are apparently legendary, and we’ll also have an ice cream bar and a small cake to celebrate. We likely won’t have formal appetizers before dinner, although my aunt is currently trying to convince me that we need something light beforehand… so stay tuned.
