Amanda and Andrés met while pursuing their MBAs at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Exactly when they first met depends on who you ask. Amanda remembers first meeting Andrés during the Booth ski trip in December 2020. Andrés, however, says they first met almost a year earlier when they were on the same small group apartment building tours together... apparently, he wasn't tall enough to stand out in the crowd of 10 people. Amanda and Andrés quickly became best friends, sharing the same sense of humor, outlook on life, and energy - so much that friends would comment that they were basically the same person. Amanda and Andrés continued to grow closer throughout their time at Booth, traveling on many memorable trips with their close-knit friends and classmates. After a night of celebrations, they found themselves watching the sunrise on the beautiful Copacabana Beach - a place famous for hosting the highest attended concerts in the world with millions of people. Yet in that rare, almost impossible moment on a beach known for record‑breaking crowds, it was just the two of them, as if the world had briefly carved out a quiet corner just for their story. As the sun rose over the water, they decided to take the next step in their relationship and officially begin dating. After graduation, Amanda and Andrés both stayed in Chicago for 3 more years. Before moving in together, Amanda told Andrés that she wanted to make sure that her corgi, Bella, wasn't "her" dog in the relationship, but "our" dog. This went a little too well, with Andrés' embracing his #1 Dog Dad title so hard that he now claims Bella is "his" dog. For Andrés' 35th birthday, he planned a ski weekend in Breckenridge and invited many of their closest friends to celebrate. Given his love of a good photo shoot, Amanda didn't think twice when he planned taking group photos before his birthday dinner. Much to her surprise, that "photo shoot" turned into a proposal - a perfect moment, in a place they both loved, surrounded by so many people they love. At the end of 2025, Amanda and Andrés made the move from Chicago to New York City and now happily living in Williamsburg with Bella - excited for this next chapter in life and so grateful to celebrate in San Jose del Cabo with all of their loved ones.
