Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Yes! There will be motorcoach buses leaving from The Canopy Hotel and the Courtyard Marriott on Saturday at 11 AM, if you plan to take the buses please be ready and in front of the hotels 15 minutes before the departure time so you have time to board the bus. Buses will leave Rockcraft Lodge at 4:30PM and at 6:30 PM back to Portland.

Question

Will there be parking?

Answer

There is ample parking available at Rockcraft Lodge if you choose to drive yourself.

Question

Is the event outside?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors, weather permitting, while the cocktail hour will be held under a tent. We hope to enjoy al fresco dining, but if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move the celebration under the tent!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We invite you to embrace the beauty of our lakeside setting with semi-formal attire for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. For Women: Think garden party dresses or sophisticated separates. Flowy maxi dresses, knee-length cocktail dresses, or stylish jumpsuits are perfect. Pair with chic sandals or heels that can handle a lakeside environment. Abe is not exactly sure what any of this means but he thinks it reads as "look nice, be comfortable, and wear shoes that you won't complain about." For Men: A suit or dress pants with a blazer is ideal. Opt for lighter fabrics or colors to match the relaxed vibe, and feel free to skip the tie if you prefer. Smart loafers or dress shoes will complete your look. Amanda interprets this as "Guys, you don't have to worry about sweating in a wool plaid suit while baking in the August sun." TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT. We can’t wait to celebrate with you by the lake!

Question

What shoes should I bring

Answer

Please wear dressier shoes that compliment the more formal dress code for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Please bring a change of shoes suitable for games and water sports if you plan to participate. We’ll have space available for you to store any extra clothing and shoes.

Question

Where will I be able to change?

Answer

We’re still finalizing the details, but we will provide a “coat check” system for stowing your belongings, as well as space in the lodge for changing.

Question

What will be served for food?

Answer

Cocktail Hour will include a selection of passed hors d'oeuvres and oysters on the halfshell. For dinner, we will be serving a New England Barbecue Feast with a selection of classic favorites perfect for a summer al fresco gathering with made-to-order grilled items and seasonal sides. This menu will be prepared and served by our favorite catering company, Big Tree Hospitality, BTH is behind some of our favorite restaurants in Portland (Eventide and The Honeypaw)!

Question

Is there an After Party?

Answer

Absolutely not. We love all of you but this party ends at 7pm. We invite you to make your own fun nearby or in Portland, but we will be having a fire and relaxing with our families. :)

Question

What happens if I get injured during activities?

Answer

There will be A LOT of physicians and medical professionals in attendance. Everything from infectious disease to orthopedic trauma could be addressed if needed.

Question

Will there be any competitions?

Answer

Of course there will be...

Question

Will someone watch our children while we have fun?

Answer

Abe is wonderful with children and enjoys their company more than adults, so feel free to send them over—he’ll keep them entertained! We’ll also have a variety of fun, structured field games for the kids, all supervised by capable camp counselors.
